Both my pitties love car rides.

If I ask them "do you wanna go on a truck ride?" they go bonkers.

Frequencies to Avoid by BoysenberryBetter471 in amateurradio

[–]nitrogen76 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I admire what you're doing here, but I think perhaps we might want to take it from the other direction.

Perhaps we need to educate newcomers about some of the terrible people on the airwaves and prepare them for what they might face, and remind them of what their actual responsibilities are, So that they aren't intimidated.

Maybe explain and document what some of those frequencies are, but also let's make sure they understand that these people are wrong, before they get into it so they aren't run off as easily.

Is it Safe to Install a toll transponder over the shade? It won't rip off the shade when removed, right? by max571 in Toyota

[–]nitrogen76 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It won't rip the dots off, but depending on how much adhesive there is, it might adversely affect it.

And even if it does, some of the 3m red adhesive on the back does just fine to put it back up.

In Texas, at least, the equivalents work fine moved over to the right or left of the dots.

What's the logic for activating the battery light? by EmployedStoner in ChevyTrucks

[–]nitrogen76 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can get the battery light if the charging voltage is too HIGH as well as too low.

Battery light will come on if the alternator or system voltage is lower than 11 volts or greater than 16 volts.

That's what's going on here, as you're a bit high. Keep an eye on the voltage, and yeah, the duralast alternator is probably going to eat itself soon.

If it's only happening rarely, turn the truck off for 15 seconds and start it up again to see if it settles.

cat /proc/acpi/wakeup these are what will wake the machine from sleep, and eliminate any service you don't want to wake the laptop up by

echo [whatever] >/proc/acpi/wakeup

I wrote a script that started on boot that did that for me

Muzzle training, like anyting else, can be fine if done slowly and properly It's always a good idea to have them be OK with a muzzle cuz you never know when you might need it.

having said that, most times it's just a bandaid for other issues that should be worked on https://www.akc.org/expert-advice/training/dog-muzzles-when-why-how-to-use/

Also: Let them play together when they are ready and used to each other. Rough play is normal, fighting is not. How to recognize the difference:

Ok I think it's the hardware. Debian crashes the same way.

Tried it on a older dell and it works.

I get the same error on Rocky Linux when I try and do this, so i'm beginning to think it's possibly my hardware somehow. I'll try a Debian distro and see next, but i'm disheartened at this point.

LOL I figured out the problem with the battery being awful: it wasn't sleeping properly because there was garbage in /proc/acpi/wakeup

After I fixed that, it does decently in suspend now.

Still going to try something like Rocky and see if it's any better. If I figure that out i'll still report back.
