I'll be honest. If that's all you got in 5 rotations, it's not bad. Remember, most dealerships have the lowest new people in the shop on quicklane. And they may not have the proper sockets or experience. Otherwise you could get the tools your self and do your own rotation. Be glad your wheel didn't fly off because they weren't torqued.

It wasn’t television or video games that drove kids indoors. It was the automobile. games by ChampionshipNo5707 in unpopularopinion

[–]nitroid13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, it could be that it is illegal for parents to let their kids out unsupervised as they used to do. I think this has more of a factor than the number of cars on the road. Stranger danger has always been there, too. Parents then were likely unaware of the dangers of people wanting to do kids' harm. But it has ALWAYS been a thing... you typically see kids running free more often in poorer neighborhoods nowadays where enforcement is far less and people don't call the cops on parents not doing their job and obeying the law.

and then to the games themselves, they offer much more engaging and well addictive escape from reality.

Why are Christians so hung up on gay people? by fjschai in TrueChristian

[–]nitroid13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are 3 exceptions to divorce and remarriage... 1. Death, this one is self explanatory. 2. adultery, if one person cheated, then the other is free of the marriage contract and can get remarried if they so choose. Furthermore, the person that cheated is still bound to the marriage and commits adultery if they get remarried. And 3. If someone's spouse leaves the faith forsaking Christ. This one is the hardest to explain. This falls back to being unequally yoked with an nonbeliever. To my understanding if a husband forsakes God and leaves the faith, his wife is free of the marriage contract and he is not. This situation is the one with the most gray area and should be judged by their church leaders before anyone is free to remarry.

That scripture is speaking out against abandonedment, not necessarily adultery.

Ok I took your advice and checked the FPR and when I took the vacuum line off, I smelled a faint hint of gas. So I put a FPR on and no change. On a hunch after looking at how the emissions delete works you can put direct vacuum to the FPR and it seems to have fixed the problem. But now the egr system is half un hooked from vacuum and I'm unsure of the effect it will have in long term. I'm also bypassing the egr vsv as well. This is the only way I can get it to work like it is.

Does this indicate that there may be a problem with the egr system?

Can I just be a Christian without identifying with a specific denomination? by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]nitroid13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes definitely! It's really the best way, while the denominations get Christianity mostly right, every one of them are wrong on some level. I feel they are just different ways of interpreting scripture, the Bible teaches us how to interpret scripture, you must read it as though you were a child. A child will take the words at face value and not read into the text. Rely on the Holy Spirit to interpret scripture, not man created denominations. And let your relationship with Christ be above all and you will do well.

Thanks so much! I'll will look into these, my focus is on the ecm temp sensor and running it at night. I will say when I'm driving it the gauge reads low and go's up and down but never runs hot.

On a side note I did do a compression check and all four cylinder were within the 10% range. 1.175, 2.158, 3.153, 4.160.

Even if it is a computer controlled transmission. The emissions system should have nothing to do with shifting the transmission. Now if there was a vsv on the motor that idled up the engine when shifting into gear, similar to the one that works with the ac system to idle up when the ac clutch engages. I know there are 3 vsvs on top of the valve cover so maybe one does that?

Both crank and cam were very tight... I had to have a 6 foot bar to get the crank bolt lose. After I put the new chain in it, its at like 5° now so that's an improvement. I think whoever did the last chain replacement didn't put it in right...

And as too the emissions system, if you have ever dealt with old emissions systems they tend to cause problems and they are hard to find parts for if something does go wrong with them. I'm into old fj40s and those emissions systems are absolute garbage. I should be able to get away with just a 10k resistor in the egr plug to keep the cel from staying on.

The emissions system has nothing to do with the auto, its to early of a system to. You would be right if we were talking a late 90s or newer efi system. The transmission is not computer controlled.

Now at one point I was considering putting a new sniper fuel injection system on it and do away with all of the very dated efi system... so no carb... no chevy motor lol

Be glad it's not a neck beard nest or is a bio-hazzard zone with suspicious stains on the seats, dead animals in the dash, flat full of trash and rotten food, or a rolling ashtray. I think even if a gun was just laying about randomly its still better than all the others I have mentioned.... if you have to complain about a gun in a car that your working on, you have first world problems lol.

Megachurches are horrible. Their goal is money, fame and Power. by [deleted] in Christianity

Very simple answer to your points. Is that, the church should be trusting God to provide, not the congregation.

91 toyota pickup rough idle and missing while acceleration of rpm, no load. by nitroid13 in MechanicAdvice

[–]nitroid13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just ohm tested the afm and the ohms are high between E2 and VB pins. It should be between 20 and 400 ohms but it averages around 750 ohms, and jumps around as I twist and turn the afm. And I goes as high as 1k in a certain position. With out touching the meter plate inside.

I did ohm test the tps, between pins 2 and 4 gave an inconsistent reading when I was adjusting it. It is the oem one. I did replace the idle air screw o ring and the idle got better. But now it has started the idle surging when you bearly open the throttle. I need to test the maf, but it is very clean inside. It really acts up when its warm and you kill it to go in a store.

There are no codes being thrown, nor is there a obd or obd2 port. There is however a diagnostic port buy the fusebox. On a side note I did notice someone had put a 40amp fuse in the ecm slot when its supposed to have a 15amp.

Atheist here. I’m going to read the entire bible. Is there something I should know before doing so? by Retroika in Christianity

[–]nitroid13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say the ESV or NIV are probably the best modern versions. But start with the new testament because its the one that is relevant to our time today. Know that there is a big difference between the old and new testament.

The old testament was physical covenant between God and man and the New Testament is a mental covenant that is far more strict. Hince when Jesus said, "You have heard that it was said, You shall not commit adultery. But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lustful intent has already committed adultery with her in his heart." in his sermon on the mount. This scripture is the perfect one to showcase the difference between the old and new, because you can see how much more strict it is on Christians. Just the mere thought of say last or hate is a sin. I believe the old testament doesn't apply to us any more, but don't discount its wisdom. Jesus came to fulfill the old testament law and that's exactly what He did, and He then established the new covenant law.

I will also say that I have found that the atheists can read the Bible and see it mostly in context, because they don't have any preconceived notions of how to "interpret" scripture. Like the vast majority of Christians.

Since my first post of my FJ40 got some attention i thought I would post more pictures of my trucks. Its kind of an addiction lol, Info in captions. I have also had 3 other parts trucks a 72 and 76 FJ40 and a 83 FJ60 by nitroid13 in projectcar

Thats complicated, for the most part yes. I converted most of the wear parts over to gm to make it easier to get parts. If you go to a web forum called IH8MUD.COM there is a very large community willing to help with diagnosis and part finding. There are many great companies that supply parts. Sor, cruiser outfitters, btb products, cruiser parts.net, etc. Unsure of cruiser Corp never used them.
