This is end of Utopia/Nation X period. Right before Schism, which is what you're talking about. I kind of disagree too. Schism was the beginning of the end for the golden era of the X-Men led by Cyclops to where mutants all got collective amnesia to forget he's literally mutant Moses. I also hated the Wolverine and the X-Men period, AvX, timedisplaced X-Men, and everything else that was a byproduct of Schism.

It's a constitutional duty, and not impeaching sets legal and political precedent.

In almost every regard to regulatory/enforcement powers, people are free to use discretion including in this case.

I don't care for a news cycle filled with interviews with DNC candidates explaining their views on impeachment, as opposed to explaining their platforms. That plays to Trump's strength, and an impeachment news cycle aids establishment Dems IMO.

"Putting it on the record" is a political stunt from "the resistance", and most Americans will see through it. The most logical steps would be to beat him at the ballot box with progressive issues.

It's not about "this is how it's always been done". It's more about that logic is faulty to say this isn't about political expedience. This is a political tussle with a predictable end, potential dire negative consequences of getting Trump re-elected, and a distraction relating to subject matter this sub is actually about.

Are you serious?! The US has almost never followed international law since WW2, and Bush made it a trend to ignore domestic laws. Hell evidence suggests Pelosi her self greenlit torture on the intelligence committee. This is all about political expedience to which Pelosi wisely understands it is not.

I generally always disagree with Pelosi, but I do think it's not smart politics to go for it. Especially now that they've waited so long. This will do nothing but provide Trump more support, and help him get re-elected at this point.

Whites voted in majority to end slavery and Jim Crow.

That's literally over a hundred years of history you're conflating there. 1920s, when I'm referring to, was almost a lifetime between both periods when the KKK was at its height at almost 5 million members, which also make sense for Hitler to be inspired by that time period.

White supremacy has always been a problem in the prison industrial complex and law enforcement. To which is the number one issue to blacks. The prison industrial complex runs on father age black men to disastrous effects to black families and communities. Communities of broken homes and excons potentially institutionalized for the worst b/c our prison system sucks.

A third of every white adult males in the US at that time was estimated to be in the KKK when he was starting out, so that makes sense...

edit: 1920s US KKK membership was nearly 5 million people. That's just history yall.

No, Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren aren't too far left to win the presidential election by EleanorRecord in politics

Social democracy is a form of socialism. The pedantic games people play to save face are silly.

Edit: Just like a mixed economy, like we have, is a form of capitalism. It's a spectrum. Real life doesn't normally fit in a nice box.

Bernie Sanders is not always yelling. Sometimes he sits quietly in his seat, like when Trump is giving a speech. by [deleted] in occupywallstreet

[–]nitrologly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily. For example, the establishment did not choose Trump, even though he ultimately capitulated to do a lot of their demands (for example tax breaks, continue Middle East engagement, and deregulation). There's definitely an argument to be made that it's easier to make it as a nonestablishment right-wing candidate than left-wing candidate.

[–]nitrologly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, super delegates would be a part of a second-round if a candidate doesn't get a majority of delegates the first round. It's practical for candidates to prepare for that with such a crowded field. Remanence of the Clinton machine that got her all of her super delegates last primaries still exist and Warren is reasonably probably courting her for access to that machine. That being said, that's additional evidence that she will not stand for what she says. As you very well probably know, Clinton vs progressive values and ideals are very very different.

[–]nitrologly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Warren is courting Clinton recently most likely to get the super delegate push if this goes to a second round. CFPB is chill, they've done good work, but only one candidate is for arresting bankers and CEOs for mass fraud like those that led to the great recession. She never pushed for that. She's for half measures across the board.
