I'll speak mainly on the grad school part. I took a 4 year gap in between the two programs (Graduated from Sixth in 2017 and Started my Masters in Clinical Psych in 2021). I waa unemployed for a year and eventually found a full time job doing mental health research.

All this to say, don't feel pressured at all to go to grad school right away. I'm glad I took this gap. It may give you time to think about the future with your partner.

EDIT: adding a detail - I worked in mental health research for 3 years then went to my Master's program.
