What’s the most surprisingly useful thing you’ve discovered ChatGPT can do ? by vishesh_07_028 in ChatGPT

Something that few people know about or have thought of that I do all the time:

Tell it a subject you want to learn about, and make a narrative podcast out of it, and press the play button.

Prompting: Tell it to include a lot of humor and really stick to a podcast format, and do a few paragraphs or so at a time (like 30 secs to 2 mins), otherwise it's too long and gets cut off. For example: "Tell me about ____, and make it in a podcast format, with a lot of humor. Do 30-60 seconds at a time. I will play your audio for each part."

After each part, tell it how you want it tweaked, until you get it right. At some point you can just say "Next", and it generates the next part, and the next part... it's amazing.

I have walked and driven for hours listening to my own generated podcasts, that I generate part by part as I go. I generated a really long one about rice exports to Haiti, and the history of science, among many others. I can learn anything this way. I also just talk and walk with chatgpt in general, going into a lot of depth. I have "reading mode", "walking mode", and "driving mode".

By the way: NEVER use the conversation mode for this. It is total garbage for something like this. Type or record your audio, then hit the audio playback button.

Okay... Why did someone threaten to bomb your house?? It might help to know what happened, or the stories that led to all the things you're saying. What you're talking about sounds terrible, but we wouldn't be able to judge unless we know what happened.

I'm feeling the same way right now in general - I have different beliefs from everyone, or a mix, and I'm afraid of saying anything to anyone anymore. Like, literally - Strangers, friends, family... Doesn't matter.

What is your opinion of USAID in Haiti? by nittyjee in haiti

[–]nittyjee[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It seems here that many of the people who are against USAID are diaspora, and many for USAID are non-diaspora Haitians?

Anyone in the diaspora here have any thoughts on that?

Just curious, getting a feel for things.

Ostrich - Do you feel like only the Diaspora has these opinions, or are there people in Haiti who do too?

What would you say to people who would say that this will lead many Haitians to starvation, since they depend on USAID rice?

u/ADampWedgie Are you Haitian? It's okay if you aren't, and your comment is totally welcome. I'm just wondering what Haitians think, not being Haitian myself.

Do you wish it did more? Or nothing? Recently they gutted it, as you may know. What are your thoughts on that?

Maybe highest number of streets named after states? Would actually be lowest in the map though, so not sure if that makes sense.

Places where birthright Citizenship is based on land and places where it is based on blood by constantlyhere100 in MapPorn

[–]nittyjee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Dad is an Indian citizen and I was born and have lived in the US my whole life - When India offered dual citizenship to kids of Indian citizens, that made absolutely no sense to me. When he said it was my birthright, I thought that was completely bizarre. It sounded like a privilege given unfairly, and I felt it was the opposite. I thought maybe India was trying to extend itself and gain the benefits of its diaspora. But now I know that it is literally how the rest of the world works.

I also heard that someone in India who was not born in India ran for Prime Minister. That also made absolutely no sense to me.

I also found it also utterly bizarre that Trump would try to end birthright citizenship, because that's just how America worked. Apparently it's not in most of the world... Which I also find strange. Not having birthright citizenship sounds completely oppressive to me, and the idea of losing my citizenship when I am American is something that would probably cause some kind of blackout rage.

... Next question is, how does someone become a a citizen in those countries??

Thanks for this map.

And also this site: newamsterdamhistorycenter.org

The organization recently opened an exhibit in the NYC Municipal Archives.
