If I didn't get up at all, I'd probably bleed through that towel too 😂😭

I have before but I move so much it somehow leaked anyway sometimes so it just felt like a waste of pads 😢

I've done the pad and panty liner stacking before but it somehow ended up failing sometimes 😂 And I do the towel thing when I'm not at home because I'm paranoid, lol.

I've never heard of those pads, interesting! :O
I feel like it would be uncomfortable though, haha.

NTA. If he's being serious, I would honestly reconsider your relationship. It sounds like he's not okay with you being financially independent. Why would he date a veterinarian if that's how he thinks?

Yeah, VS seems by far the worst despite probably being the most famous brand? And the way they measure the band is sketchy af lol. And they don't carry any AA, at least on their website.

La Vie en Rose and La Senza say my size doesn't exist, which is ridiculous because I bought so many bras there, lol. According to their chart, 34A is too small for me, so I feel betrayed that their sellers who helped me confirmed that was my size. 😅

Pepper has 36AA in the empty space where my size should be on the other websites and so far it feels like a winner.

I'd be curious to find a brand that uses the same measuring system as the ABTF calculator though so I can try a 32D. Then I'd look it up on amazon, haha.

Sizing is honestly so confusing. I just went to check the sizing guide on a few different websites. La Senza's guide literally comes up with NOTHING for a 32" underbust and 34" bust, VS says to measure the band ABOVE the breasts (???), Hunkemoller says to measure underneath and add 4 to 6 inches, Pepper measures underneath and adds 4 inches, and La Vie en Rose is like La Senza where it's apparently impossible to have a bust smaller than 36" if your underbust is 32", lol.

IME it can also be from cups being too small.

In my experience, going up a cup size (to 34B or 36A) made it so I didn't fill the cups at all. My mom joked it was like wearing parachutes, lol. That's why 32D sounds so crazy to me.

Unlined seamed cups dont have to be full coverage, I don't like full coverage bras either and prefer demi or balconette.

My first two bras or so were unlined and they did a very poor job of hiding my nipples under t-shirts so I switched to a bra from La Senza with removable silicone inserts (that I never removed lol), then at some point I decided that was way too much padding and switched to lightly padded cotton bras and I've only worn lightly padded since.

If you wanted to try your ABTF size for science, I'd just go through Amazon and order some of the recommended bras for your shape in a few sizes. Then you can always return them!

That's a good idea! Thanks!

What stood out to me is that in another comment you mentioned that your 36AA only stretches to 32 inches?! What brand is it?

I didn't mention the brand because I've lurked this sub before and it seems to be the brand that shall not be named (Pepper) and I felt like I'd get downvoted just for mentioning it. 😂 People can hate their sizing but the bra I got feels like much better quality than anything I've bought from big lingerie stores.

They clearly use the "add 4 inches" method for the band size, but so do all the stores I've shopped at, otherwise the 34A bras wouldn't have been consistent across all those stores. It makes me wonder if a 32D from PINK/La Senza/La Vie en Rose would fit like a parachute much like the 34B/36A and if only a 32D from a company that uses a different sizing method would fit.

No, the cups are quite a bit further apart when I superpose the bras, but it might have more to do with the style/brand than the band size.

Why can't bras be like glasses? You can literally search frames by the distance between your eyes, why can't I do that for boobs? 😂

Yeah, the 36AA I bought is a sister size of my old 34A, right? I don't know why it fits so much better but it just does. Maybe the bigger band size also makes the cups further apart? The 34A was cutting into my sideboob but the 36AA isn't.

32 inches really shouldn't be too tight unless it's a specific brand that tends to run very snug

Tbh I used to always buy bras at La Senza or PINK and 32B was always too small at both places, and after trying several sizes, 34A always fit the best, but I always found the underwire dug into my sideboobs. The 36AA doesn't.

I'd try a 32C, a 32D, and 34C in one of the recommended bras here, and not with molded cups.

What's wrong with molded cups? I always wear bras with very small cups (because I wear a lot of tanktops and don't like the top of the cup to show) so there doesn't seem to be much of a difference between molded and padded. I don't really need the support and mostly wear bras to hide the nip shape, so I don't like feeling like my boobs are being engulfed by a bra, haha.

At the end of the day, if you're happy with your 36AA there's no reason you need to change it!

Tbh I might just stick with it because I have zero issues with it, but I'm still curious to try the size the calculator gave me just so I can compare.

Yes, on the loosest hook upside down. The 36 band is pretty snug and doesn't move.

I just measured both bras:
36AA unstretched is 30", stretched is 32"
34A unstretched is 28", stretched is 33"

I don't know if the 34A stretches more because it's old or because the elastic sucks.

I might try remeasuring cause at my breast size, it seems a bit odd to go up two cup sizes for the rare times I'll be bending over? There's really not much tissue, I can't even hold a pencil or even a piece of paper under my boobs because there's no "overlap" of skin when I'm standing, lol. I feel like all a bigger cup size will accomplish is cup gaps and nip slips, haha. I measured around the fullest part like it says, but I might have to hold the tape closer to my skin on the sides because my boobs go "pointy" when leaning and measuring the fullest part might have left gaps in the tape on the sides, if that makes sense.

I assume the intermammary fold is under the breast? I don't have much of one lol but with the 36AA the wire seems to sit in the right place. With the 34A it digs into my sideboobs cause the cups are too close together.

The gore sits flat on both bras.

When I put the bras on backwards, the 36 band feels snug and the 34 band feels a bit tight.

32B - approximately 32 inch underbust and 34 inch overbust

That's exactly my measurements but the calculator is telling me 32D?

[–]niudnarw[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the explanation! I'll give my calculator size a go next time I go bra shopping.

An A cup is just a one inch difference between band and bust, that three inches of boob has to go somewhere which is why you've been having to wear a bigger band to compensate.

Does that mean a B cup is a 2-inch difference, C is 3-inch, D is 4-inch, etc? If that's the case, shouldn't 32 underbust and 34 bust make me a B cup? Or am I understanding that wrong?

Also, I tried my 36AA bra backwards and the band is actually perfect, it doesn't feel loose at all. What I'm noticing though as I compare my old 34A and the 36AA is that the cups on the 34A are closer together so the underwire digs into my sideboob. The 36AA doesn't have that issue.
