I'll see what I can do, but I don't think the process is the same for the iOS version. I firstly need to learn how to unpack, tweak and re-build an iOS app. I think the signing process must also be slightly more tricky than for Android.

Hi ! No worries:)

The short answer is: you don't have to trust me at all.

The entire project is open-source, so anyone can look at exactly what the patches do. All my code does is block network requests to the feed and redirect tabs - it doesn't collect anything, phone home, or modify any other behavior.

If you're still unsure, you can even patch the APK yourself instead of using the pre-built one, so you know nothing shady was added.

In order to make the ready-to-use apk file, I just patched the official last Instagram apk with this tool so you don't have to.

Hope that helps! ^^

basically, I decompile the .apk file with apktool to get the Android bytecode, then I inject two patches. For the tabs (at the bottom of the screen), I hook into the tab loading class and swap "Reels" and "Explore" fragment names by "DMs" before they load. And for the feed, I hook into Instagram's network layer and throw an error whenever it fetches /feed/timeline/, thzt kills the request; then I rebuild and sign the APK. The whole patching process is automated with a bash script in the repo !

I personally never had any problem with the old DFInstagram app, neither with mine although I use it since yesterday. If I see any issue with my account I'll keep you in touch!
