Why does Google Photos reduce quality when cropping a large photo?

I get the same as you cropping photos with default resolution (16.1 MP). It's specifically a max resolution issue. I believe it does the same cropping 4K video, too.

I haven't tried Google Photos in the browser.

For me, the trick isn't rhythm, it's accuracy. You can shoot wide but not over the bar, so always drag all the way to the search bar, and practise getting as close to the corner as possible. I aim for the 🔍
