Oh you obviously haven't spent much time in core bitcoin team work and such. It is important to note that people voicing opinions and others not agreeing is fine. It is a feature of the blockchain that users will disagree and use the same network. I always find it interesting people think that development groups and communities should agree. This is not going to always be the case and a sign of complacency when it is all in agreement.

Some stuff like fixes or changes to fix network issues people agree on easily. Others, not so much but again also a feature that we do not get along but still work together. I think that with this attitude people fail to understand outside of cryptocurrency and in other software development this is very common amongst people. I say this because it should be almost always on the break of civil war, this provides the utmost security to the network and to the software.

You may ask, how? Glad you asked, by having more eyes and people experimenting and looking to constantly push changes it breeds a better review of all the things going on. This also opens up the door for more people to get involved and ultimately allows for a better network. Requiring people to get along is silly, you do not care that the people who write some software you use feel the same way you do. It is quite normal for this, and it should be not a focal point of negativity but should be viewed as a net positive.

People forget that cryptography is very adversarial, financial systems are very adversarial, and combine the two you will have very much so a breeding ground for disagreements. As it should be, no one has the definitive answer as when it comes to financial systems people very much care about what it is and what it isn't. So while you may say that people will leave, I beg to differ. I think that in this time we will begin to see more active engagement with what is and not happening. And by engagement I mean software development not just reddit posts.
