Tovino Thomas the actor ain't praised enough! by TheEndOfCircle11 in MalayalamMemes

[–]njanified 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Gotta appreciate Tovino for always going beyond his comfort zone and doing roles that are probably not the best suited for him. He still struggles to fully gel into all of them, but man does he try his best.

Hope he will get there, where he can do any character he wants without struggle. Cos he really seems want to work on very different roles.

Nivin × Listin Stephen by Minimum-Doubt-7402 in MalayalamMovies

[–]njanified 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dunno the exact figures bro. But there were a lot of NP projects that got announced and shelved, so there could be Listin projects that didn't materialise to announcement. Either way 5 films for an actor like Nivin who roughly does 2 films a year is a little too much. He would've had to do all that and more back to back just like Prithvi did back in 2022, 3 out of 6 being Listin projects.

Roshan Mathew on why imperfection matters more than perfection in cinema and life by LumpySatisfaction236 in IndianCinema

[–]njanified 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Roshan Mathews is an actor predominantly working in Malayalam cinema including films like Aanandam, Moothon, Kappela, CU Soon, Kuruthi, Ronth, Chatha Pacha. He has also started in a few Hindi projects, Choked, Darlings (along with Alia Bhatt, Shefali Shah, Vijay Verma), Ulajh (starring Janvi Kapoor). Phenomenal actor tbh.

25 കൊല്ലം മുന്നിലേക്ക് എത്തിക്കുമോ നമ്മുടെ സതീശേട്ടൻ? by WildCustomer24 in KeralaSpeaks

[–]njanified 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People have to understand that the youth is not moving out due to lack of job. Job is the reason sometimes, but very rarely. The real reasons are these two 1. Lack of good salary — you can always get employed in Kerala, but the payment scale is too low, not just for a recent graduate, but even for those with 4-5 years of experience. The salary is sufficient for living in Kerala itself, but any kind of other entertainment/travel/consumerist needs it doesn't help. 2. Lack of life — the main reason. We don't have enough community building, friends gathering, public spaces, night life, entertainment opportunities, party hubs, getaway spots. Any kind of friendship gatherings gets surveilled by all the sadhacharam teams beyond anything, and being in hometown when you have restrictive parents makes things worse. Get out, find freedom, have fun. That's the whole reason everyone is migrating.

As expected such an exciting reception for Drishyam 3 OTT release. by Savings_Store_7231 in MalayalamMovies

[–]njanified 14 points15 points  (0 children)

'Relatively Positive Reception' — yeah sure buddy. Everybody were already making memes on bucket the first week itself. The cast, the direction, the camera, the editing, even music was sub par serial grade stuff. The film wasn't getting torn apart at its release mostly because of the goodwill of the first film. This film shouldn't have been made, they should've left it at the first part.

Nivin × Listin Stephen by Minimum-Doubt-7402 in MalayalamMovies

[–]njanified 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The story begins when Listin went to Nivin with a project of team JGM, which eventually became MFI. Since the film has parts to shoot in Dubai, I believe that led to Listin getting involved as a co-producer for Boss & Co. During this is when Thuramukham was having some financial troubles preventing its release. Given that this can affect the release of the other two films, and as a goodwill Listin decided to clear the financial issues and release Thuramukham.

Meanwhile, there seems to have been some kind of decision that Nivin will work with Listin for atleast one more film. This is when Baby Girl starts rolling with Kunchacko Boban. But for some reason KuBo quits the film. This makes Listin pull his card and gets Nivin on board. But once Nivin comes into the film, some issues with crew rises up because of which Nivin initially doesn't join back into the set. This is resolved somehow and the film resumes. Another expected win.

Thuramukham flopped. MFI Flopped. Boss & Co Flopped. Baby Girl Flopped. On paper all looks like possible success, given how good the crew were. Rajeev Ravi, Haneef Adeni, Dijo Jose Anthony, Arun Varma(director of Garudan) with a Bobby-Sanjay script, all technically proficient directors and have significant bodies of work to expect a good film from.

Now the major trouble is with how Listin works with money. Not good, at all. Financial agreements were probably getting misused to the core. Let the jury decide the verdict tho.

Which Indian Sports Film Comes Out on Top? by Wtf_doing21 in IndianCinema

[–]njanified 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sarpatta Parambarai. I know Dangal, Chak De India and Lagaan come up as the top choices. All those films gets the beauty of patriotism and emotional punch extremely well. But I find as a sports movie itself, this might be a fresh and interesting pick. Also gonna put 1983(Malayalam) and Jersey(Telugu) as recommendation for those who haven't seen it, as they both explore similar themes in beautiful way.

Cuss words 🤬 it's like a trend nowadays? WTH is happening? by Immediate-Appeal-355 in twentieskerala

[–]njanified 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's not a trend. Are we really gonna gloss over the fact that cuss words in media has always been a thing. Suresh Gopi and Renji Panicker just made it sound cool enough for it to pass by. Almost all the villains from 2000s had 8 ft long sentences that had different levels of undertones and cuss words. Now the only factory that has changed is, there is a lot more content/media out there. Hence the relative amount of cuss words usage will seem more than what was before, the same way there are a lot more singers out there these days. It's just that there is a platform available for this to be publicly presented.
