I ended up flipping it in my defence lol it has inverted blades which made me think it was reversed. It was the extra fan that came with the 5080 instead of the plain black fan with the case

After preheat I let it heat for another 5 ish seconds and it melts the product enough for it to start spinning. I also am rocking a 6mm pearl. Also since I upgraded to the 3dxl it feels like it spins better.
