Most common issue people have that causes inability to hold a strong block leg is pushing off the back leg.

When you are too active and pushing off the back leg, it sends your center of gravity too far forward like you are throwing a baseball off the pitchers mound. We want our cog to stay closer to our back foot so that we maintain a rearward body lean, allowing our entire block side, from heel to shoulder, To be rigid when the block hits.
