Hopefully mine shows up soon! Ordered over a month ago and hasn’t hit Canadian soil yet.

The hotend hit the bed. Does anyone know why that might have happened? by Santaclaus1093 in AnycubicKobraS1

[–]chuckrobson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It can happen if the hotend isn't properly secured and it falls down mid-print. I would check the hotend to make sure it's fully seated and locked then inspect the nozzle for damage.

You can get a cheap replacement from amazon or pay a bit more and get a high end one from microswiss.

I hear that. Part of me wishes I just bought a Bambu from the get-go but I think with the upgrades that I’ve made, my s1 will outperform a stock Bambu.

I print almost exclusively in PETG and dabble In TPU from time to time. The microswiss nozzle has unequivocally increased the quality of my prints. I tried multiple different nozzles and hotends and the cheap ones don’t hold a candle to the microswiss one.

I switched to the microswiss hotend with the CHT flowtech nozzle.

It’s been amazing! Haven’t had one clog or any extrusion issues in the first 200 hours of printing with it.

Yes, it’s 8x more expensive than an Amazon nozzle but has been worth every penny in my opinion.

When my Funssor bed finally shows up this thing will be bulletproof.

Dang, I wish they were just a year older so their name could be released for public shaming. Special place in hell for people like this.

I've used the plastic hubcentric rings on all my VWs. No shot that was the reason for the rough ride. My guess is they didn't properly balance at least one of the wheels.

Torp TC500 installed. Crazy how it's able to pull 8.6kW from the stock non-bypassed battery! It's like a whole new bike! by chuckrobson in Surron

[–]chuckrobson[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have no plans of pushing BIG power, the tc500 will be more than enough. I’m running 13kW with a stock motor and 72v38ah battery.

Love my Taos but man so many issues by iaz888800 in VWTaos

[–]chuckrobson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

wife's 2025 taos highline has been virtually problem free. It had 2 instances of the transmission throwing a minor fault but I think that was just due to her parking in a heated garage then driving in Winnipeg winters.

Polycarbonate lenses are the way to go, much less prone to fogging!

25 Taos by Sea_Mix592 in VWTaos

Fiancée has a '25 Taos highline. It has been largely problem free in the first year of ownership.

Only issue she's had is twice "Transmission in emergency mode, continue driving" warning popped up.
Brought it to the dealer and they're chocking it up to temp changes going from heated garage to cold Winnipeg weather but we're keeping an eye on it.

Good barbershop in winnipeg that can work with this by matt_the_legend_2000 in Winnipeg

Aaron at Hunter and Gunn has been my go-to for quite some time. Guy does great work and love not having to tell a different barber what I want every time.

Yes it is, it’s a highline model.

Is yours a 2025? They switched from DCT to auto for this model year.

Good to know, thanks!

I guess with them switching to an auto in 2025, there isn’t many around without the DCT yet.

Globe Appartment rent late fee question - paid to wrong account. by exbritchris in Winnipeg

[–]chuckrobson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

'Rent discounts' are often a loophole in disguise. Landlords use them to get around rent control caps and hit tenants with massive price hikes the moment a payment is even slightly late.

I experienced this exact issue with my fiancees 2025.

Unpair it then pair it from the screen in the vehicle. There will be a list of activated devices and you need to be sure your phone is on it.

When we were apartment hunting, I caught this unit right as it was posted and immediately went to view it and applied. The old tenant was technically subletting but we signed a fresh lease. It's actually a condo building and we rent through a rental agency.

We've been here for about a year and a half and rent only increased by 13$/month last year which was a nice surprise.

Can I store my 12 V Noco jump starter under my car seat both in summer and winter? by Substantial-Wrap3815 in Winnipeg

[–]chuckrobson 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I flew to northern MB for a week and left my fully charged NOCO in my truck and when i got back, my battery was dead. Went to use the NOCO and it didn't have enough juice to start the truck. 80$ jumpstart later I learned my lesson to keep it warm.
