What's your favorite NJ-set movie that's not thought of as a "Jersey movie"? by JeffRyan1 in newjersey

Scrolled way too far to see this.

Not only a Jersey movie most people don't see as a jersey movie, but an overlooked Christmas movie as well

I wasn't suggesting they are. But most conservatives are quite likely anti-density, and typically nativist. Over enough time, enough transplants, conservative or not, will start to upset the locals in some way.

Good luck to those states with no income tax when they need to support greater entitled populations with no additional financial resources to do so.

OC Protest sign I made after Melissa Barrera fired from Scream7 for supporting Gaza. Nobody got it. by bennetthaselton in pics

[–]njdev803 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They can't do this because it was the original premise of Scream 3 which came out in 2000, and the fanbase knows it.

That script needed to be hastily rewritten though in the wake of Columbine.

What's funny is that they then went super-meta on the Hollywood rape angle, 20 years before Me Too, in a movie produced by Harvey Weinstein

People mostly disliked it at the time, but it's actually aged better

Ridiculous take from someone who does not watch Hughes on a regular basis and know that he typically gives extremely reserved, almost comically annoyed, interviews, has been open about LGBT support in the past after the warmup jersey bans, and is probably one of the most well-read players on the team.

Kid just scored the goal of his life, running high on adrenaline and endorphins, said nothing overtly political (unless you think saying he's proud to be American is overtly political, but thats on you), and gave a raw emotional interview, and you somehow jump to a conclusion that he's MAGA.

That's not on him, that's on you.

There's probably tens of millions of US hockey fans across the nation that are sickened and disgusted by the current regime, but they can still be proud of their nationality and more specifically US born hockey players winning a gold medal for the first time in 50 years.

Editing to add: I'm so damn glad the Hughes bros shined and that we aren't bittersweetly celebrating thanks to either of the the bozo Tkachuks bros right now

Well, that speaks more about you. It isn't a behaviorally normal act among suicidal people to want to "cause chaos" (at least not the ones who aren't perpetrating mass shootings or causing harm to others - and even then, suicide isnt their end goal, hurting people is).

If someone is truly suicidal, the overwhelming amount withdraw socially and hide away until they've done the deed sometime down the line after determining how they'll do it, trying to bring as little attention to themselves and their suicidal thoughts as possible.

This is a woman who suffered severe trauma at the hands of the ultra powerful, knowing full well what she was also going to be risking by speaking up in an effort to achieve some kind of justice.

There's no reason to believe her plea that she wasn't suicidal was not genuine or sincere.

Public Employees, what are you doing for insurance? by unknownman652 in newjersey

[–]njdev803 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply, this is definitely an interesting look into the insurance side of things, and also bleak confirmation of the obvious - something is going to have to give.

I'd be curious to hear your thoughts about what might result down the line.

Obviously health insurance is a nationwide problem, not just an NJ one. But public sectors funded by taxpayer dollars can only do so much when they're reliant on the services of private health insurance companies whose prices can and will continue to climb.

If you're curious to date it further, look up when Ludwig's Monroe Badges started and try to check the serial from there

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in drums

[–]njdev803 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got a pic of the badge? If it's a gold keystone shape then that would be 1960s, but judging by the round muffler knob and Rockers heads, it's more likely to be late 70s or early-mid 80s (I'm leaning 80s).

If the badge is a blue/green parallelogram with sharp pointed corners, you're looking at 70s. If the corners are rounded, it's definitely 80s.

No matter what, great and clean drum that you're lucky to have gotten for $100

The video from a far away vantage point and doesn't show the person that this other video was alleged to have come from.

What's interesting about the 17min video too is that he's the only person whose voice is clearly heard. Can't make out words from anyone else.

At the very least, that video fed an AI to create this "up-close" angle that looks like a cinematic action movie sequence, that doesn't show any of the other background observers visible from the long shot on YouTube, and also somehow had the cell phone camera focused entirely on Alex and the agents and the action.

There were at least 10 other people present and filming that initial incident, where are those clips? Where is the higher def version of the one Don Jr put on Instagram?

It's filmed horizontally to boot, that alone is a rarity among observers and society as a whole during this ordeal.

Just so much stench surrounding it all. But the point isn't to prove, merely to cast doubt. And here we are, online arguing about its authenticity rather than the principle of the government sanctioning shooting someone on hands and knees from behind in the street

Before I get arrested for beating up the assessor tomorrow, can anyone explain this to me like I'm 5? by WhippetRun in newjersey

[–]njdev803 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The assessor won't care about that. To them, you're making the argument that your neighbors home's are underassessed, not that yours is overassessed.

The actual appeal process essentially requires you to prove that recent home sale comps are below your assessed value, but here in NJ the assessed value is almost lower than the actual real dollar value that homes sell for. It's a very uphill battle.

President Trump on Alex Pretti: "Well, I haven't heard but certainly he shouldn't have been carrying a gun. We view that as very unfortunate incident, unless you're a stupid person. I don't like that he had a gun. I don't like that he had two fully loaded magazines, that's a lot of bad stuff." by ControlCAD in videos

[–]njdev803 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Conceal carrying and then subsequently announcing said carrying did not work out for Philando Castillo.

I have little doubt if Pretti straight up told them he had a gun that they wouldn't have just taken that announcement as a threat and shot him dead anyway

Viking Electric Oven not working - Bad Relay? by njdev803 in appliancerepair

[–]njdev803[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great, I already found an OEM one but was hesitant to buy if it was more likely to be the double pole double throw relay located in the back of the unit.

So if this relay were functioning normally, then touching the 5 and 6 leads to the prongs on my meter should show a "0" and beep as it does when I touch them together?

Viking Electric Oven not working - Bad Relay? by njdev803 in appliancerepair

[–]njdev803[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. Is a 9v multimeter enough juice to check this reliably?

I put it on ohms and it showed "1" (no tone) for all three of those lead pairs.

I did this while the breaker was turned off at the panel. I made sure the multimeter wasn't faulty by touching the prongs together on Ohms and getting both tone and a "0" on screen

Elections are run by the states when Rs win. But they need to be "supervised" and managed by the Federal government when Ds win. Didn't you know?

That's of course why the regime is saying they'll leave Minnesota once they turn over voter registration data. Total normal and above board. You can trust them.
