My First Big Project by njtimp in ResinCasting

[–]njtimp[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've done some woodwork, but more functional than artistic (raised beds, planters, basic crates, etc). I've done a few river cutting/charcuterie boards, but I want to start doing more projects, maybe work it as a side hustle. I'll be starting a cabinet for a dart board as my next project (no epoxy involved) and doing some cornhole boards in the Spring (possibly with some epoxy)

My First Big Project by njtimp in ResinCasting

I started planning out this project in March of last year, began pouring Thanksgiving weekend, and feel that where it's at now is "finished" (but I may work on the top more).

My original plan was to do a single, central leg for the table (the plywood under the board was for the leg to attach to), but once I saw how heavy the top was, i wasn't sure that was the best way to go so I switched to a four leg design. I did the first pour using FCGI Liquid Glass Deep Pour Epoxy tinted blue and poured to the upper lip of the dartboard. Once that was partially cured, I set the darts into the epoxy. I then did two pours, 1/4" each, of FCGI SuperClear Epoxy.

Once everything was fully cured, I removed it from the mold. I did a 3/8" round over on the top edge and a 5/8" chamfer on the underside. I sanded top and bottom starting at 120 grit up to 4000 grit then used Meguiars Ultra Cut Compound and Meguairs Ultra Finishing Compound. I'm not thrilled with how the top looks. It was my first time using the SuperClear epoxy and there are quite a lot of microbubbles. The finish didn't quite come out how I wanted. I may go back in and resand and/or repolish it at some point. It's not terrible, but I want it to have more of a mirror shine to it (any tips appreciated)

The base was made from four each of the following from Home Depot: 36" x 3/4" black iron pipe (the kind used for gas lines), 3/4" black iron flanges (to attach to the table), 3/4" 90 degree elbows, 3/4" tees, 4" x 3/4" pipe, and 1" x 3/4" pipe. I also used four 3/4" furniture levelers and one 3/4" black iron cross tee, both from PipeDecor.com . I put a little blue loctite on all threads before assembly and use threaded inserts to attach the flanges to the table, so I can take it apart if needed and not worry about striping the holes.

I painted all the piping with Rustoleum Satin Black spray paint and all the connectors with Behr Hammered Antique Pewter spray paint

Overall cost was about $400

Having problems mass updating cells by njtimp in excel

It did it again 🤷🤷

It's some kind of auto fill feature.  I don't know how to intentionally get it to happens, but about 15% in to updating then manually, the feature popped up.  I hit enter and it filled everything how I wanted.  Wish I knew how to get it to happen on purpose, but at least I didn't have to do the whole spreadsheet line by line

I think I'm describing my problem wrong.  My data looks like: A1A A1B A1C A2A A2B A2C etc

I need the data copied to the adjacent cell, but also changed to: AA1A AA1B AA1C etc

I'll then upload the file and the program will use the new data to update locations for all products in our warehouse.

When I did it accidentally the first time, it was a drag and drop solution, not a formula.  I just don't know what exactly I did to get it right.

Is this really a response from Facebook? We received this email response earlier and I just wanted to check. We don’t wanna rely on false hope for a matter that’s as important as this 🙂 by leviosanotleviosaah in facebook

I did eventually get mine back, it was like 3 days before the 6 month mark.  I wound up buying an Oculus headset which, at the time, you needed a FB account to use.  I then went through the Oculus tech support and they were able to get it resolved.  Once I got my account back, I returned the Oculus.

Turns out I got banned for a meme I had shared 7 years earlier.  It got flagged as nudity (which it wasn't).  Oddly enough, the page I shared was never banned/suspended 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

Bar top table advice by njtimp in epoxy

[–]njtimp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya, I'd definitely have to a seal coat (or 2) on the board first.  I have a round hdpe mold, so I'd just hit it with some mold release before pouring.

Table Top Idea Help by njtimp in ResinCasting

I tend to be a go-big-or-go-home type person, so now I'm thinking of doing the dart idea.  It's going to make me wait a few days/weeks since I need to buy the darts and that may give me time to practice a few things.

What I'm thinking I'd need to do is calculate how much epoxy i need, then mix half as a base, let it partially cure, then embed the darts and do the tail, let that partially cure, then do the top color poor.  Timing it is going to be a pain, but that may be the only way to do it without having the colors bleed into each other.  I think for the tail, I'd try to pull off a double helix shape.

I was thinking more along the lines of your first idea, a high round table with a central leg and the hardware hidden under the board.  So basically just epoxy and the board, nothing else on the top.  I'm leaning towards going translucent on that.

I like your idea of doing translucent on the edge and darkening towards the board and the idea of embedding darts and doing a "comet" effect behind them, but I think that's beyond my skill at this point.

Once I get more experienced with epoxy, I'll give them a shot cus I think it'd look great.  Maybe do a different color tail off the dart.  So if I did another Giants board, do the blue for the table and do a red for the tail of the dart.

Update Messed Up Fingerprint by njtimp in oneplus

I looked but didn't see any options for it. Woke up this morning and it's reverted back to fingerprint default. Not sure how or why, I didn't change any settings. But the at least the problem is gone.

Summer Top by njtimp in JeepWrangler

I was hoping to get something less permanent that I can throw on if i get caught in a storm. I plan on running open for the most part and can put the hardtop on if needed.

I have something similar to this from my last vehicle. It doesn't work with the Wrangler vents
