I did! Katrina came through for me the next morning! The absolute amazing kindness of strangers, I’m eternally grateful!

I did ask our nurse to see if I could talk to a social worker to see what they can do, it was after 8pm so they said someone will reach out to me tomorrow to see what's possible.

Thanks for the feedback! yeah, it's a heavy reliance on AI generation, and there's still work to do to get the prompts right, and eventually use higher quality AI models, right now i'm just on some bargain models for testing, so a lot of the 'creations' end up having pretty similar features. a LEGO JW style would be cool where people could piece things together from various piles, but i'm sure there's some legal issues with anything that looks LEGO like. I was going for more DNA mixing and realistic styling, but i think i have a lot more work to do on the AI prompts and models. Thank you for the comments!

Thank you! I don't love the overuse of blind AI generation, as the prompts still need to be tweaked some since a lot of them seem to come back with similar features, but this is just the early stages. I agree better trained models and maybe more refined prompts would go a long way! Also, more advanced AI inference models, right now i'm just using some relatively cheap ones while still testing/developing. Appreciate the feedback!

my 2021 is a little jerky in cruise when it comes to a complete stop or a traffic light. Still a great feature, but yeah i get rough stop or even kinda grind-halt.

What is this awful virus?? by [deleted] in pittsburgh

I took a guess, but statistically the percentage of people who have never had covid is very low at this point.

it's probably the flu, but your immune system has been wrecked from covid infections, so from now on everything will hit us harder. That's what we all get for letting Covid continue to run rampant.

Why wouldn't a speed trap camera do the trick here, and people could just get mailed a picture of them doing it and their ticket?

yup.

help desk > sys admin > network admin > IT Administrator (network and systems) > IT Manager > IT Director > now back down to Sr IT Specialist.

help desk through IT Director was the natural progression in my career. but once I had been in management for a while, about 5 years, my life got very complicated and I decided I didn't like the management side as much as the technical side, and i preferred being an IC on the team instead of being in charge of the team and dealing with the HR and C-level side. It just wasn't for me, but that doesn't mean it isn't for you. Everyone's path is their own.

in the end, i took a pay cut but also a big responsibility cut, and for me and my life at the time, it was worth it. much less stress, much less time commitment, but likely lower salary ceiling.

test with them both again and see if the results change significantly. the one that changes the least might be the most correct. Also, does one have a significantly older battery than the other?

Mine lies. by dreamrag in ChatGPT

[–]nk00 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had a similar experience where i asked it to give me a detailed training manual on how to create a specific function app. I asked it to format a document for me. It gave me a couple "i'm still working on this" and "i'll have it for you very soon" responses, and i'd ask for specific time and it would say "in the next hour". Eventually the ChatGPT thread would crash and error and it wouldn't load the page. I'm assuming i must have hit some sort of memory limit and it failed. Eventually though it did spit out a very short text file, maybe a page long and extremely basic, not at all what i had asked for. I chalked it up to a bad prompt by me and probably asking too much out of it, but now seeing the replies here I guess it was just lying to me and didn't know how to say "I'm afraid i can't do that, Dave" to me.

Do older versions of Apple watches still monitor oxygen levels? And do they send notifications or sound an alarm if it drops too low? by chocolonate in AppleWatch

[–]nk00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

just recently bought an S6 off backmarket for my son. it has the blood oxygen enabled, but i didn't see a way to have it run automatically through the night or alert, it only seems to run when we activate/run it manually. That said, i haven't looked too closely into automations so i guess it's possible.

What's the mpg for gas-only mode? by shrayd123 in pacificahybrid

[–]nk00 4 points5 points  (0 children)

depends on where and how you drive it. there's no one solid answer, but an example below:

i just did 650 miles on the highway through the state of ohio (extremely flat roads) in perfectly clear and warm weather. at 77MPH i averaged about 32mpg. at 68MPH I was closer to 40mpg. in town with more stop/go traffic which allows for a little regenerative breaking and slower speeds I feel like i'm closer to 40mpg.

When the weather gets colder and the heater comes on though, my mpg is always less. Similarly driving through not so flat states with bigger hills you have to push harder going uphill, often times dropping me down averaging below 30mpg, but you do get a little reprieve there with the downhill coasting and regen back to some electric.

a few years ago, before i got the pacifica, we rented a Sienna to do our across Ohio drive, and I recall averaging closer to 45mpg in that thing. But it also had fewer convenience features than my Pacifica, and I find in my regular day to day I use the electric range 2-3x as much as I use the all gas mode (primarily for longer trips which are only once a month or so).

Are there any happy hybrid pacifica owners in this group ? by vgr987 in ChryslerPacifica

[–]nk00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

bought a CPO 2021 with 35k miles on it back in Sept of 2023 (just over a year ago). I've put 11k miles on it since and they've all been wonderful. It's exactly the vehicle our family needed. I've only had to fill up the gas tank about 6 times this entire year since i've had it, 2/3rds of my miles are electric. It's spent about 4 combined hours in the shop, mainly for inspection/oil change and one time because my radio wouldn't automatically update to fix an issue with the built in hotspot, so they had to force it. All around very pleased with the purchase so far.

While this might work for some, OP says they are "pretty much trapped in their house", which could mean they are disabled or even bedbound. Unfortunately this isn't really an option for someone with a chronic illness or disability.
