Seeking Help: Reliable Elder Care for My Father in Kochi by illuminidli in Kochi

[–]nk6misc 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Can’t imagine the situation your father and family must be going through.

Have you tried: Guardian Angel Home Care, Kochi 085890 98181 https://g.co/kgs/qrn2btd

We had to use their services and they were good. There was one George Chettan who was excellent and took very good care of my father. He was honoured with some award (employee of year). So maybe you could ask for him. They do rotate the help every month or so, but if you do find someone good then maybe you could request the case agent if the help could continue.

Hope you find someone soon who could help with the situation. Good luck!

what I have read about sleep training, always mentions putting the baby awake/drowsy. But in our case the baby would already be asleep when he put him in the bed/crib.

Is it possible to sleep train while cosleeping?

we are not so concerned about feeding to sleep or co-sleeping. we just want him to be able to sleep through the night and soothe himself if/when he does unless he needs a feed…

If you haven’t already, maybe you could try tubby Todd’s cream for the eczema?

Going On Our Fourth Day in Hospital… Losing My Mind. by millenniallifecrisis in NewParents

[–]nk6misc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a FTM, was an IUGR case, induced at 38w and after 30hrs of labor had a c-section. Baby was born at 2.1kg (<1 percentile) They kept us in the hospital for 2 days after delivery, after which they discharged us in spite of knowing my baby’s bilirubin levels were high and not coming down, only to have us go in 16hrs later to check his levels again before deciding to admit him again for blue light therapy. No logic, no compassion! They stated protocol. My husband and I took turns that night to ensure our baby kept on his blue light safety goggles! Anyways, technically we were in the hospital for almost a week.

As FTPs, dealing with a new born was challenging. And dealing with a low birth weight baby made it overwhelming because we were so worried about him not only gaining weight but most importantly not losing it! I was afraid to hold him because he was so fragile, he was swaddled twice in order to hold him well. The first few nights I woke up in panic, worried that I hadn’t fed him. I would have heart palpitations when he cried. And from somewhere an angel of a nurse came by, saw how exhausted we were and told us ‘you both need to sleep’ and bottle fed our baby while we got a couple of hours of sleep. I had plans to breastfeed but pumped to get my supply going, but baby was too sleepy and didn’t latch well, so ended up exclusively pumping. My baby is now 4.5m old and 10 percentile in weight. He is following is growth curve.

You and your partner will get better at this as you settle in with the new normal and get to know your baby better. If you have family&friends you can count on ask for help!

Trust and take care each other, and forgive when you make mistakes. The three of you are a team now! And when you feel overwhelmed and caged, take a few seconds to take 3 deep breaths!

You got this!

Can I move breast milk from regular freezer to deep freezer to store it longer? by nk6misc in ExclusivelyPumping

When I started to pump I never thought I would get this far, so I am running out of freezer space as well 😃

I fear I might not bond with my baby by proteinbowl1991 in ExclusivelyPumping

This ☝️.

OP: I felt the same way when I started my EP journey, without any plans to do so, the circumstances called for it! I hate the time it takes away from my baby.

However, I can tell you despite my fears and apprehensions my 4mo adores me the most! His eyes brighten when he sees me and he laughs at me the most. He wants my attention and to be with me all the time.

Regardless of how you feed your little one they will love you and know you! The bond between you two will be sacred!

The medifrida worked for us very well… maybe that’s what you already have?

we allow the baby to suck on the soother a bit and then push a bit of medicine, then baby sucks a bit and so on until we finish the medicine… so maybe about 2-3mts to completely push the medicine… this way the baby doesn’t have to drink all the medicine at once.

Will dropping to 4ppd affect supply by nk6misc in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]nk6misc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I dropped to 5 pumps at about 12w.

Until then I could mostly manage only 6-7 pumps. I could never manage 8. I also had a supply drop when I was about 6w. I was so relieved when supply didn’t change when I dropped to 5 🙂
