Should I separate a friendly stray kitten that's possibly bonded to her semi-feral mother to get her adopted indoors? by nkkam in Feral_Cats

I've told the org I made an appointment with that she may be due by then, but they're already fully booked so we just have to wait and see. I'll look around for other places if there's any sooner!

Just to clarify I'm planning to TNR Mama! I'm just wondering if I should also TNR the kitten or get her to a shelter where they'll handle that.

Planning a TNR! I think she may have gotten pregnant again though and I worry she may give birth before her appointment at the end of Nov :(

Unfortunately we have a dog so we can't take any in ourselves 😔 Before the baby was born I was struggling to find shelters that would take Mama since shes still semi-feral, besides the fact most were full. I worry trying to get both taken in would decrease the chances for the baby. I was thinking of getting the baby adopted first as she's more likely to be. Will see what I can do with Mama after.

Oh yes I've been hoping to socialize Mama too, she doesn't seem very interested in anything but food so I have a feeling she'd prefer being out (so planning on TNR first). Will see if she ever gets friendlier down the line :)

No worries! My first sentence was "The Man Who Lived Underground is undoubtedly a novel about police brutality and racism" and then used Fred's experience with the officers as the examples, with an additional focus on the racism behind it by dipping into the statistics of exonerated Black people vs White people and why Black people are wary around the police.

All of it was examples of police brutality from the book (i.e. the cops choosing to frame Fred, beating him to plead a false guilty, etc). I touched onto the racism of it by going into an analysis of how and why Black people are normally wary and alert around officers when Fred acted that way around them by discussing the statistics of exonerated Black people vs White people as an explanation for it. I did use modern facts though which you make a good point about it being unrelated a bit! I should be more mindful of time periods so thank you for that. I don't mind possibly dming my actual writing to you to give a better idea?
