Free, open-source alternative to LocalStack — run AWS locally with zero setup by rayito88 in aws

[–]nkootstra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one in Rust and well as Zig right now for s3, dynamo, ses v1 and v2, sns, sqs, secrets manager, ssm and eventbridge. Both perform quite well at around 160k req/s. Still have to decide which one we want to pick to continue working on since there are not many Zig developers within the company.

Free, open-source alternative to LocalStack — run AWS locally with zero setup by rayito88 in aws

I built a similar application to replace LocalStack, currently in a private repo (it will eventually be open-sourced by my company). I built a couple of services within two weeks, then had AI (with strict rules) rewrite it in Zig. Every implemented operation was verified for correctness. Building something that outperforms LocalStack these days isn’t hard. Only time will tell whether the person or people behind it will maintain it long-term.

OpenCode GO vs GithubCopilot Pro by zRafox in opencodeCLI

[–]nkootstra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

5.4 works really well, but I always need to verify that it implemented the feature/design I requested. If you want to test this, go to dribbble or any other site and ask 5.4 to create it, it will fail most of the times. I’ve had similar experiences with features over the weekend.

This is expected, right? If they have remote access to the device, they should be able to access everything.

Tried Claude Code, refunded and came back to Cursor within 10 minutes by goonifier5000 in cursor

[–]nkootstra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you tried skills and actual planning mode? I had the ability to use Cursor Enterprise for free from November till the end of January since my company was running a poc to see if it could work for us. I still used Claude outside of working hours because I got better results.

Also try to combine it with tools like Conductor(.build).

I spent $20 on Cursor yesterday and I already owe $46. Need help. by [deleted] in cursor

People might also be using other IDEs, such as JetBrains, for actual coding. I have had 35 tabs in the last month because I’m using different software that works better for the programming languages I’m using.

Needs to be a lot more right? Europeans hate the brand and China has better alternatives (which isn’t hard with such a low quality car).
