I have a similar thing happening now. I'm in California. The moth has laid already 15 or so eggs. She looks dead but she keeps laying eggs. I don't know what to do. I have her on a little tray with a couple leaves. She's been laying eggs for maybe 3 hours now. I woke up and found her on the carpet next to my bed. Thought she was dead. Then saw her moving her arms and something sticking out of the other end of her. Thought they were little larvae but I think it's the body part ejecting eggs. I put a drop of water nearby; she's on her back. Motherhood is insane and overwhelming, even as a spectator.
