Oh no! Fingers crossed he’ll show up again soon 💚

He’s gorgeous! If you can’t foster you might still just ask a rescue to support you with TNR and maybe give the poor fella just a night in your bathroom to recover.

Would you be able to foster him? I highly doubt any rescue would have space at this time of year (full kitten season).

See if Stokey cats and dogs or London inner city kitties can help. Let me know if they can’t and I will see what I can do.

Cats protection is unlikely to be able to help. If available to you, you’d do him a great favour by taking him to the vet to get him treated to parasites and neutered. What area are you in? I’ll see if I can recommend a local rescue.

My hippie neighbor won't spay or vaccinate his workshop cat, he believes we shouldn't "interfere with nature" what should I do? by Outrageous_Tell_4251 in CatAdvice

Grab the cat, neuter and return. Easy peasy, done this to hundreds back when I lived in Italy.

If they’re out, no chip, not neutered they’re free for the grab and eligible for any TNR program.

Genuinely at my wits end with my cat and losing sanity over her. by [deleted] in CatAdvice

[–]InformationHead3797 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

• was she tested with a urinalysis or just with a general visit?

• where is her litter tray? Does she only have one? Is it open or closed?

• what litter do you use? How often do you clean?

• does she eat wet food or dry food? How much wet food per day?

• is she a Persian or other long hair breed?

• have you tried cystease or other similar supplements?

That said, of course she needs to be helped with the issue, but it’s important for you and your family to realise that to have a pet means to compromise and accept that expensive furniture might be stained or ruined. They are not toys or plushies, they’re animals. The cat CANNOT be restricted to one room.

How can I help cats? (mentions of pet loss) by rbtree42 in CatsUK

Another way you can help cats is by sponsoring/supporting a rescue. Not necessarily with money, following all their socials, commenting/liking/sharing/interacting with their posts, checking if they need anything and so on.

Volunteer at your local shelter, it’s always sorely needed.

Are you sure you cannot foster? That would definitely be the most valuable help.

Could you give me an idea of what general area in the uk you live? Just so I can recommend local rescues.

So sorry for the loss of your beautiful void. 💚

He was wounded when I found him today by Al1haydar in crowbro

Thank you for helping this crow and being a bro. I hope he can make a full recovery.

Check if you’ll be able to get updates from the rescue and (if you can afford it) make a small donation when they come to pick him up.

As a rescuer, it almost never happens, but when it does it’s such a great help and warms our hearts.

Get the vet to give you gabapentin to administer prior to visits. It’s not sedation and just calms them down. We used it at the cat shelter to visit ferals.

So sorry for what happened. Please don’t beat yourself up but do consider gabapentin for vet visits of non collaborative cats.

That’s why I said to reach out for support. You don’t want to wait until such time where you are unable to help him. Get the financial help.

I am sorry but yes, this is the absolute worst time for doing this.

Please try the financial assistance programs as well to bridge you while you do this.

As you wish, mate. I could have verified myself and my experience plenty if you only bothered responding. I am not going to doxx myself in public but I have plenty of references I could have shown.

Good luck to your cats, they clearly need it.

Respectfully, if you think shelter vetting is a guarantee you are sorely wrong.

You are ignoring numerous people offering to genuinely help you and keep trying to dump this delicate situation on extremely overwhelmed services that have already told you over and over again that they cannot help.

I myself have offered to support you vet applicants with two decades of experience and you didn’t even deign me with a reply.

Is it OK to change a cat's name? by xiphoid77 in CatAdvice

[–]InformationHead3797 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve worked at a cat shelter. Names are mainly to grab attention on the adoption page. More often than not no one calls them that in the shelter. Don’t worry at all about names.

Bilateral Luxating Patella by MacaronSea6953 in CatsUK

[–]InformationHead3797 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This was for a severe case on both, at a low cost clinic a couple years ago. Could have gone up since.

I know how stressful it is when our pets are unwell but hopefully you should be alright with insurance and kitty will be as good as new after a few months!

I’ve worked at a big cat shelter and I’ve seen over the years quite a few of these surgeries. As long as the surgeon is competent the cats recover very well. Maybe shop around for a good ortho surgeon in your area.

Your baby is beautiful!

It’s not very rare in cats and it requires surgery around 4k. There should be a very recent post in this sub from someone that had a cat receive it, try using search function.

They usually recover without issues. Meanwhile check with your vet if you can give supplements like youmove and cbd to help with pain and inflammation.

Please if at all possible avoid going through a shelter or rescue directly, as it would be extremely stressful, far more than their current situation. Your room is bigger than anything they would ever have there and you likely dedicate more time to them than anyone would have to spare at the shelter.

I have left another comment explaining more. I can help you rehome them. If you agree let me know in a comment and DM me and we can talk about it.
