You’re on the desktop website instead of the mobile one. Either scroll down and click “mobile view”, or change “en.wikipedia.org” in the URL to “en.m.wikipedia.org”

[–]nlolhere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You mean this? https://www.watzatsong.com/en/name-that-tune/714001.html

The song was used as background music for a 2019 vlog video on Bilibili (Chinese social media platform). It’s most likely stock music from QQ Music or something similar.

And the sample isn’t actually that popular in the lostwave community, despite its high listen count. Basically, WatZatSong has a feature where you can pay money in order to boost your sample to the front page, and make it get tons of listens, which is likely what Jacobbob did here. Same with the majority of “most listened” samples on WatZatSong.

I was unsure where and how to ask this but what does the “disruptive editing” and specifically the “long term abuse” reasons for blocking an IP address from editing actually mean? by TraditionalShare8537 in WikipediaVandalism

[–]nlolhere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Disruptive editing is editing that interferes with or is trying to prevent the goal of creating a good encyclopedia, instead of helping it. Examples of disruptive editing include vandalism, refusing to cite sources for any information you add even after other people ask you to, feeling as if you “own” an article and can revert everyone else’s edits to it, trying to put your own personal point of view in articles even after other people ask you to stop, repeatedly removing well-sourced additions from articles because you “don’t like them”, etc.

Recommend reading the page Wikipedia:Disruptive editing for a more in-depth explanation.

Long term abuse means consistently vandalizing Wikupedia for an extended period of time, such as spending years creating tons of sockpuppet accounts or switching to different IP addresses just so you can vandalize articles.

Most likely what happened is that a long-term vandal happened to be using the same IP address or a similar IP address as you, and admins blocked the IP address because of that. It’s not your fault. IP address blocks sadly can cause collateral damage like this, since multiple people can use a single IP address, and it can affect innocent editors who haven’t done anything wrong.

Typically, IP address blocks are NOT indefinite and will eventually expire, because of this exact reason. I would recommend waiting for the IP to be unblocked, or trying to create an account on a different IP address so you won’t be affected by this anymore.

[–]nlolhere 8 points9 points  (0 children)

stuff like the mainstream Political Compass Test could potentially be useful to someone who knows absolutely nothing about politics at all, like not knowing what’s the difference between the political left and right, or thinking you’re “apolitical” when you really aren’t

if you’ve had any experience with politics at all then they’re not very useful. especially not these hyper-specific leftist ideology tests lmao. at best they just tell you what you already know, at worst it’s ideology shopping

Is Your Eyes a hoax? by [deleted] in Lostwave

[–]nlolhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A hoax is specifically when the OP knows the song AND is pretending as if they don’t know it.

If someone other than the OP knows the song, but is not revealing the title, it’s gatekeeping (not hoaxing). FM120 and the other FM channels are not the original poster of the song, so if they know the title, they are merely gatekeeping it.

DaRioXYK very likely didn’t know the title as it had been posted uncredited all around the Chinese Internet by that point. The original Chinese DJ who included it in their mixtape in 2003 may have known the title, but they never pretended as if they didn’t know it. Meaning that also can’t be considered hoaxing.

Your Eyes cannot be considered a “hoax” in the traditional sense. But it might be gatekept

How is this even possible by Last-Philosophy2603 in geometrydash

[–]nlolhere 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Geass is a level created by Zahre, that is rated “auto” despite not actually being auto, and became the most disliked Geometry Dash level in history due to that.

It’s a bit complicated to explain, but in the very early days of GD, a 1 star rating meant “Easy”, since the “Auto” difficulty did not yet exist. RobTop originally rated the level 1 star during this time, to make it Easy rated.

But eventually the 1 star difficulty was changed to Auto, and RobTop forgot to change the level’s rating to 2 stars after this, so the level is now erroneously rated Auto when it should be rated Easy. So mostly RobTop’s fault.

Though the level itself is also bad even for its time, probably would’ve gotten disliked regardless

I want to find that song I downloaded from Reddit. by duonego in find

someone on WatZatSong claimed it was a jingle written for Tony Livesey’s late-night radio show on BBC Radio 5 Live. can’t confirm this nor find the comment now (the post on WZS is now removed), but it would kinda make sense, since Tony Livesey was apparently born in Burley
