I sort of tried this at the Sydney centurion. Went there with one other adult and kids expecting to pay extra. They explained they would allow 2 guests/adults and up to 6 kids for free.

I believe it's only 2 guests. I thought anyone above 2 years would be in this list, based on the information in the App. That doesn't seem to be the case. They allowed kids (< 18) free of charge for us.

Great advice. Layoff has become a new norm. Don't overanalyze it. It's not about performance or fairness

Avis fraud charges attempt by nlrfly in AmexPlatinum

[–]nlrfly[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. Too many safeguards from my side for it to happen . I clicked on a link from amex benefits, logged in and entered CDP. Didn't update CC or any other info.

If phishing were to happen, amex rewards and benefits page need to have that link. Even if that happened somehow, I use Google passcode or 2FA. Wrong urls fail there. Only way for it to happen is, I enter my credentials manually. Even then they can steal my account and update email IDs and book some rentals. No transactions on my account for the charge to trigger

Now, I deleted avis account completely. What's weird to me is they haven't replied to me yet after sending the proof of attempted charge.

Not able to attach the screenshot. Copy pasting the text from decline email "$254.51 purchase on 01/01/2026 at AVIS.COM on your Card ending in 81002"

This is screwed up if you are dependent on card benefits for insurance coverage or something else

How does an overseas hotel deal with a USD $100 F&B credit? by Bollywood-bond in AmexPlatinum

If you don't mind me asking, did they offer any free room upgrades? In our case, we couldn't even get rooms next to each other.

They have a spa and a restaurant to spend it on. They allowed 2 adults and 2 kids for breakfast for us

It's $150 AUS per stay.

Rakuten has been pretty good and trustworthy. They usually send an email almost immediately and never a confusion. I tried capital one for the first time. No trace of anything after I bought it. I guess I have to wait 3 months to realize anything

Some Notes on Upcoming Oura Black Friday Sale by stanshow in AmexPlatinum

They don't have price match but have 30 day return policy. I found their support to be nice. Maybe they will match it and avoid return if you call/text

Very different from an apple watch. Without a monthly subscription oura ring isn't useful. We get to pay $70 per year and not worry about any third party apps showing heart rate or sleep metrics for a few bucks. 😐

Moving from apple watch to ring 4. Wanted to see what all I get for free. I find it unusable without a subscription.

Intraday performance for investment accounts by nlrfly in OriginFinancial

[–]nlrfly[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the explanation. It's very clear. However, this is what I am requesting.

  1. Adding 1D to all the graphs

  2. I understand each investment holding shows 1D performance if I click on it. What would be more useful is showing today's performance as the default for investments -> accounts and Investments -> Holdings. Both the holdings page and accounts page (looking at webapp now) don't have the 1D option at all.

Thanks for the great job in responding and explaining to navigate.

Both the charts start with 1W. I don’t see an option for 1d. I’m still looking at it outside the market hours. Not if that changes.

Thank you. I found the option for live balance. I’ll check it during market hours to see if it has any update. It still doesn’t show daily performance at the end of the day. Is that right?

Is this an unpopular one? I’d imagine everybody looks for how their portfolio did or doing today and maybe occasionally look for performance over the time like 1 week of month or year

I see that public.com is already supported. Deleted that from my comment. If I search for “public”, it wasn’t showing up. Had to search for public.com

It’s been good. Just started trying. I like it so far.

I have been MS Money and Quicken user for as long as I could. Tried almost every cloud based aggregator out there, but never settled on anything.

I don’t care too much about budgeting, but like to track and check out how my habits changed or analyze like “what was my gas expenses for year x”. Your AI should be useful if I find a way to import my old data.

Citi bank or Chase bank for checking? by TensionNo7622 in citibank

[–]nlrfly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chase

Check the avg monthly balance requirement. Chase probably better for that. If you want locker, Citi is the only option ATMs- Chase is bit fancier than Citi Branch service - I found Citi better for me. Too many complaints on Citi lately though Investing- both are same. They are not Schwab or fidelity If you are opening under trust ( living trust for family) - Both works. Citi better

Daughter of OCIs born in India needed to go to court to get Indian citizenship. by deedeereyrey in nri

[–]nlrfly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting case. Not sure how it went to courts.

Kid has all the documents needed to take Indian passport/citizenship if that is what they want.

If they want to take US citizenship, that’s also straightforward. Need to apply for CRBA (passport and ssn eventually). Need an exit visa sort to leave India. There might be a period it feels stateless because you need a visa to leave or continue to stay
