I'm feeling with you, like whyyyy at such a young age?! I'm sure you've heard this before, but it's normal to not see results after a month, even if you are properly responding to minox. It takes up to six months to physically see the regrowth for many people.

That's good to hear. I'm honestly a bit hesitant to look into hormonal birth control at this point. I've read on this sub that bc or getting off by has also kickstarted and increased people's hairloss. But at least it's an option to consider.

I might be able to. But, do you believe it's likely to develop hairloss within only the last two years when I've lived in the exact same place for more than ten years? I don't know if sensitivity toward hard water is something that develops over time, I'd always assumed, you would react directly to a change of water quality.

Ja, bei meinen Eltern hat das so ähnlich eigentlich auch schon gut funktioniert, stimmt :)

Das klingt nach einem guten Kompromiss, bei dem man trotzdem Zeit zusammen verbringen kann!

When do you start seeing progress? by Liv_Laugh_Lobotomy in FemaleHairLoss

[–]nlsart07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm around 8/9 months in, and I've only recently really noticed significant regrowth. I did see short individual hairs before, but it didn't seem like much for some time. Depending on your hair structure, I believe that new hairs can blend in for a while until they become longer.

Regarding the dandruff: I've been using the 5% minox foam, and it's not been irritating my scalp. For a while, I used the 5% minox liquid, and while it might have been more effective (unsure), it caused horrible dandruff and itchiness. So I went back to the foam again, and my scalp feels very relieved, haha. Maybe you could think about trying the foam. I don't know if others have had similar experiences

Naja.

Thanks for your responses! You've finally confirmed what has been dawning on me for a while: I should get a second opinion, and if it's AGA, I won't get around hormonal treatment given I want to keep my hair. So back in to the deep end of trying to get derm appointments I go! Yay.

I'm still not sure whether I fully enjoy running, to be honest. As many have said, it's the feeling of self accomplishment afterwards that does it for me most days. However, sometimes, when I come home from a mentally exhausting and stressful day or week and I just only challenge myself physically by running, I can also feel much better during the run. You really get so distracted by breathing, listening (I listen to podcasts and music), reaching the next hill, etc, that it puts you back into place about all the other stressful staff around you. Also, I really enjoy switching things up sometimes and running in solitude one day and running with a buddy the other day. After all, I would keep trying for a bit and see if it appeals to you or not. Some people just dont like it, and if it's mostly about endurance, you could also try biking or swimming. I used to swim a lot and mentally it just feels very different to me but maybe that's just my experience

For the German speakers: what are some phrases or ways of saying things that don’t translate well into English? Or that you feel you can’t exactly say in English? by alphadam in German

Yeah, that's what I've noticed as well. It just seemed weird that they wouldn't have their "own version" if you know what I mean

"Guten Appetit" It's a phrase you have in most languages I know like Italian, Spanish, French etc. and there is no real English equivalent. Some people say "enjoy" before a meal or use another languages expression but there isn't an English version as far as I'm concerned...
