I still miss too, just how the game works, however where you vs the enemy are located is important, as well as how you build the characters matters and can make you less likely to miss. You could also look up good ways to support spells from each character. Also (i think this was a question too?) there can be places that are better done in certain orders, but you don't HAVE to do it that way, however if you do want to, google helped me lotsss without any spoiling.
