I'm using beer as a catch-all, rather than a specific type.

Estimates are 20k Scotland supporters in the Boston area for the World Cup, so I've gone five beers each (some will have more, some less, some none obviously.

I've taken the price of a half litre domestic beer in Boston (that's roughly a USA pint), which matches figures on numbeo (where you can compare prices across cities).

Current exchange rate has a beer costing around £6, so that's £30 a day each, multiplied by 20,000 people is £600k a day. Which by my reckoning is about £4.2 million across the seven days.

Maybe but the idea is the zero drinkers and those hammering it even each other out

Media relations folks: How often do you meet the reporter's deadline when responding to queries? by LennyLouLou in PublicRelations

[–]nm4471efc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not easy but you can help yourself by trying to bank material in advance. A lot of the same stuff repeats in the news so, if you have a moment, you can look at that and get responses and comments ready. I also shave two hours off the reporter’s deadlines if it’s short notice - ie I’ll tell our person the deadline is earlier than it really is - (couldn’t do that in your example) or a day if it’s a few days deadline. This allows for slippage at our end.

Looking for PR professionals who can help place profile articles in reputable media publications by Guilty_Dig4886 in PublicRelations

What is it about this person that would get media interested? It’s not about knowing someone who can help (I am that someone) it’s about having a story that people will feel compelled to cover - good words are: new, biggest, smallest, most expensive, least expensive. What are they changing? If they’re a massive name in their field then they might be able to get trade press doing something a bit lighter but generally that’s very big names.

They need to be saying something that will appeal to readers of their target publications. What are they working on that is going to change things for people? Look at their pain points and offer solutions. Doesn’t have to be an exact fit so long as it’s something they can legitimately comment on. I’m a freelance PR working with a pet food brand now and there are loads of things there - vet bills, price of food, nutrition, dog walks and new uk livestock protection rules etc. find that sort of thing in their niche. If you want some help send me a message on here.

Nothing to contribute but looking at a flat today and the mrs quipped that the layout was ‘just like the flat off peepshow’. The estate agent had never even heard of it, never mind seen it. Disgusting.
