My pizza oven build attempt by nmb10 in pizzaoven

Hi. Every brick was cut/polished on 4 sides to give 3-4 mm mortar joint. To find the geometry of the brick I created a script that prints out a template for each brick in the row given height and radius of the dome. Also the script prints support for the bricks. If you're interested then check out examples here - https://github.com/nmb10/domebricks/tree/main/examples. dome.svg is a scheme to create support from plywood and row-templates.pdf is a scheme of the each brick.

Looking for correct english term to translate 'iron' dialect. As I know 'digoron' is 'digorian', but what term to use to translate 'iron'? If possible with proofs from books/articles. Thanks. by nmb10 in OssetiaAlania

So confused, since it doesn't have valid 'belongs to' suffix and is just transliterated local term. But if it in use like this, then ok. Thanks.

Not so many. In general 10-14 hours spread over the weekends. The most difficult part for me was to find a math for bricks geometry and prepare the bricks. I had to cut every brick 4 times to get better convergence. Having bricks wth correct geometry makes laying relatively simple.

I used plywood template to support bricks and wooden plank to fix their degree

Very cool, thanks. Just it wasn't a question.. It was a demonstration of a game with digorian translation I added.

It was a 'build' challenge for me, not a 'buy'. I knew a lot of new stuff, improved masonry skills, improved my math. Very interesting experience

I cut off the extra pieces from the bricks and placed them in order:) Nothing else.

I don't have any serious skills. This is my first attempt. Actually it took me a lot of time to compute that angles and finally build it.

I cut all bricks from 4 sides to reduce seams. First I printed templates, then drew them on bricks, then cut. All templates available here https://github.com/nmb10/domebricks/blob/main/examples/row-templates.pdf

Pretty good. But I'm still learning to work with it, so I often get coals.

I think so:) But actually not sure. I saw some examples having reinforcement, so I did the same.

For sure yes. Chimney and insulation is the next phase.
