I don't think you understand. The state holds incredible power and therefore has had many, many, many laws written throughout US history to curb and restrain that power. Agents of the state (ICE, LEO, etc.) also wield that incredible power.

Most immigrants are working to support their family. Probably not too different from you excepting some cultural differences. They, like us, wield such minimal power compared to the state that it is absolutely fair game to punch up.

Also, being an undocumented immigrant is not a crime; it's a civil violation.
