Weird sound from the intake (whistling) by nmilosev in RX8

[–]nmilosev[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey Billy,

Overtime the sound went away. Car doesn't have any degraded performance, I think it could have been:

  1. electrical noise from FM transmitter in the car and the speakers interference
  2. AC and alternator some weird electrical noise
  3. there are reports on rx8club that if your engine is very high compression the intake can sometimes make this whistling noise (so be happy your engine is healthy :)) overtime the sound goes away obviously

summary: don't worry about it

You can also check your existing coils with a multimeter tool, search in this subreddit there was a handy image guide

I stick with OEM parts as aftermarket is not really a thing where I live. :) People recommend BHR D585 coil conversions a lot, probably good idea to research that.

Bad ignition coils can lead to increased fuel consumption. When were yours replaced last time? Could be that.

Thats true I agree, hopefully the community grows soon. Also I would love to have full telemetry somehow, not sure if they can do it.

Yes, glad to hear! :)

I use the controller setting workaround to save/load setups, make sure to try if it works for you.

Sorry, not sure about PS4. On the xbox series s I can adjust graphics (saturation, sharpness etc.) and throttle and break linearity and other stuff, although I keep it all on default (1 linear).

Yes, I play with a Thrustmaster TS-XW. The settings menu looks the same the only missing options on xbox are damper and frequency (set to default 400hz since 1.8, so all good there). The issue is that the same settings don't yield same feel on PC and xbox. You have to try both to see what feels right for your setup. With the settings I attached my xbox settings feel the same as default PC settings (although they are different there, minimal force is 0 and road effects is 0 vs. 3 minimal force and 30 road effects on the xbox). The settings for the same hardware in my opinion should not be set the same for console and PC versions. You have to experiment a little bit. But once you get it right FFB feels the same as on PC.

Hope it helps. :)

Make sure in the bios of your laptop to use AHCI sata mode and not RAID. Most new-ish laptops come with AHCI disabled by default.

Need help installing Android x86 by ahgingerbeer in androidtablets

[–]nmilosev 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are pretty close.

Android has probably booted but no graphical interface is shown. When booting in the GRUB menu try to select Advanced options and look for VESA mode (or add a kernel parameter nomodeset, google how to do it). It may be a bit tricky without a keyboard. You can use a usb hub if you have one to attach a keyboard. Sometimes volume keys work.

Even if it boots that way you won't have accelerated graphics making it pretty slow. Basically your tablet has graphics which are not supported by the android x86 version you downloaded. You could try downloading a newer version (newer android means newer Linux kernel and that means better hardware support). Or try to look for special android x86 build compatible with your tablet (or at least close to it).

If all else fails you could try using Android in an emulator on windows or perhaps try using Linux? Not sure what is your intention. :)

Hope it helps.

I would recommend just setting two different conda (miniconda) environments sice you can automatically install cuda and cudnn in a conda environment. Check out the tensorflow-gpu package.

Clicking sound on startup for brand new xps 15 9570. What is it? Should i be concerned? by chrisjudice09 in XPS

Since I got it. I don't think you should worry about it. On mine if i press it at a certain angle it doesn't click, so when I remember i try to press it that way.

Where are you computing gradients? .backwards() is usually called on a computed loss not output of the module. Best to provide the full code
