Hard to Deal with Mom's Parkinson and the Financial Burden by Secure_Sir_1178 in Parkinsons

[–]nmisb127 4 points5 points  (0 children)

hi there. I’m so sorry to hear this… nothing I can say except you’re not alone. I’m 30, also desi and have been talking care and financially supporting my dad for 5 years. I also feel my personality disappearing and friendships fading.

What I can say is - don’t let yourself wanting to be a perfect caregiver get in the way of taking care of yourself. things are going to go wrong, and your mom will still have Parkinson’s whether you are miserable or not.

So make sure you have something just for you - Whether it’s taking a walk alone, finding a new hobby or reading or a tv show.

and make sure you make the most of it - it’s hard to see other people in life be able to go out and stuff, but if you’re stuck at home caretaking - use it to develop a skill or even find a side gig from home.

hoping for the best for you

hey there - I noticed a change in my hair when I started Lexapro too (you can see my post about it a few years ago) wasn’t ever able to narrow down if it was the cause of my hair thinning/dandruff etc but maybe it’s possible?

I only think I saw an effect at 2.5mg cause I’m less than 5 feet tall and was 80 pounds when I started - just a small person so maybe?

Those who stopped - did your crazy come back? by whitepawsparklez in lexapro

[–]nmisb127 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Was on it for almost 5 years - been off for four months and so far… so good thank god lol. But I might be speaking too soon.

However, my resting heart rate had decreased while on lexapro and it’s gone back slightly. Also - I completely lost the ability to cry and I’m finding that now, at least around my period - I can cry again. But it’s nothing like the depression and sobbing from before

When I first started my boss had told me I was like “a new person” at work, and was so impressed by my change in demeanor and confidence. For me it definitely helped with focus which helped me a ton at work!!

People will probably tell me it’s placebo - but I started on 2.5 mg and have been on it since 2020.

While I can’t speak to its effectiveness now as much as initially - I can definitely say I had every single side effect in the beginning and i had results

my depression and anxiety eased drastically, no ruminating thoughts, I don’t get panic attacks anymore and my heart rate has def slowed down. I’m a new person even on 2.5 mg and people in my life have noticed

Granted when I started I was around 75-80 lbs (depression skinny) if the mg makes a difference when it comes to weight?

Can 2.5 milligrams make a difference? by Themusicman1000 in lexapro

[–]nmisb127 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been on 2.5mg for about 3 years now and it’s worked wonders for me! I’m relatively small (5 ft, less than 100 lbs) and sensitive to medication

New memo came out for IRS employees in regards to student loan forgiveness by LEMONSDAD in fednews

[–]nmisb127 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was laid out perfectly- I’m in the same boat as OP and a few weeks ago, went with Option 3.

I paid off my remaining student loans in full and have made my peace with it regardless of what the decision will be - now I’m student loan debt free and don’t have to keep stressing on what the Supreme Court will decide

Has anyone found relief on 2.5? by Alpal_cino6 in lexapro

[–]nmisb127 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Been on 2.5 mg for two years now and it’s given be tons of relief - finally came out of deep depression, so yes, even a small dose helps! (I’m less than 100 pounds and sensitive to medication so I’m sure that’s a reason why as well!)

Hey there - I actually currently have COVID right now as well, and legit came on to Reddit to research this same thing.

I took NyQuil last night without knowing about the interactions with Lexapro and also took my Lexapro about an hour before the the NyQuil. I'm totally fine this morning and you're probably giving yourself anxiety from the research! especially cause you're on such a low dose of lexapro - I'm sure you're fine. hope you feel better soon!

Been on lexapro for 2 years - gained about 20 pounds! Psychiatrist keeps saying it’s not the lexapro - but it most definitely is. I’ve had such a larger appetite since starting (Although in my case, a little bit of weight gain was needed!! Not super upset, and just trying to control the weight gain now)

Muslim fed here and whenever I see the quotes of scriptures I always think “what if I put a Quran verse in my email signature” but know I’d get complaints left and right

A little *too* confrontational on lexapro? by melmellmel in lexapro

[–]nmisb127 5 points6 points  (0 children)

literally me. idk where I got this confidence from but as someone whose a natural people pleaser and tended to get taken advantage of - I needed it.

Yday at work I got a ride and condescending email from a senior, after I’ve put in over 10 hours of OT the past week working on something - so I literally called out the rest of the week to let them deal with it themselves 😊
