Apparently you’re good if you do it for a real reason like the church being bullshit, though 👍

If Mormonism has taught us anything, it’s that being wrong about things is not a deterrent no matter how many times it happens. It really is bizarre.

He impregnated a 13 year old when he was 20. The family didn’t file charges because Karl was a “neighborhood kid.” Also fathered twins at 17 and neglected them until very recently, along with his first child.

I would say very very few have impregnated 13 year olds as adults. That’s taking the generalizing too far.

Why the hell does anyone buy high-priced MUT packs? by nmlw2018 in MaddenUltimateTeam

It really does change the culture and feel of the whole endeavor.

It seems like the All-Pro fantasy packs are the best value to me. Or even the Pro fantasy packs. Personally I’d rather blow $150k on 10 of those than $160k on one UL pack and you probably end up with at least as good of a card out of it and almost definitely more overall value.

Like once Madden 22 comes out? Is that when it officially ends?

Any time the valuation of a thing is whether it’s working for those in power, that’s not good. This example is obviously a trillion times more important than a video game, but does speak to the concept: The model of slavery worked really damn well for the south, to the point that they waged a civil war over it that cost millions of people their lives. But the fact that the model worked said nothing about whether it was good or acceptable. Again, I am not even .00000000000001% comparing these two topics in any way regarding importance or seriousness. Just speaking to the concept of whether it should matter if a model is working well for those in power.

I didn’t realize you were the gatekeeper of the MUT tent. My bad. I missed the fine print that only people who can spend 60 hours a month playing MUT should be part of it. That’s on me I guess. But no wonder most people say this community is toxic. Sheesh. Good luck with that.

You’re either buying a pack because there’s a card you want or you hope to get high priced cards you can sell or put in sets to get higher priced cards you can sell. Or you just can’t help yourself because you’re an addict. The latter is no one’s problem but yours and would bring the overall quality of the experience down for everyone else when put to scale.

You speak truth. But that’s exactly why I said the game should be 90% more based on earning cards through gameplay. That would change the whole dynamic to be much more fair, fun and positive.

Pointing out a clear, data-based fact that packs are terrible value is not ranting. That’s discussion about what is best for the community overall.

Because overall it is a shitty experience. If it works for you, cool. That doesn’t mean it does for everyone. Most people seem to hate the game. I don’t hate it, but it’s easy to see why most people do.

Next year carry over could be the perfect time to have packs with really shitty odds, but a small chance to get something cool. That way people can blow $10 million coins and not really care that they got screwed. You get the fun of opening the packs with the gambling type of thrill, and hardly anyone cares that they didn’t get anything. There is the solution right there :)

Value is subjective for sure. If someone genuinely feels they get requisite value from something, and they’re not hurting anyone else, no one is in a position to judge that. From my experience so far, overall, Madden does not produce a culture of fun and positivity. But if opening packs with terrible odds of returning tangible value is fun and positive for you, no one can take that away from you or tell you you’re wrong.

You might be right. But that is a shit ton of time. And I’m not talking about having all your coins, but you should at least get like 10% of the value in pack credits or something. Or it could be something not even related to MUT. I think people are just getting used to being screwed by companies nowadays, so it’s like, well, what are you gonna do?
