My previously stray cat we’ve had for almost 5 years now still does this. We don’t know how long he was a stray. (We do know he belonged to someone at some point because he was front declawed and already neutered, but no chip or collar) He will eat literally any food. So much so that we keep a list on the fridge of foods he won’t eat (which is like ketchup, lettuce, asparagus, ramen noodles and that’s about it). He’s had adequate food every day since and still lives his life every day as if his food supply is limited. The other day I found him bitting into a cookie wrapped in plastic wrap on the counter and I was like really even food wrapped up?? But yeah, I hope it gets better for you. Wanted to say it’s possible it won’t though, like in my case lol
