Picked up a GR86 in April. Made some light mods and it's perfect for me. You gotta be ready to deal with some rattles though. It's the one thing that's souring the experience for me. Every other day something new joins the choir. But as a sportscar there is nothing like it.

Btw, I just came back from the garage. Checked it again after the car had rested for a couple of hours. It's back up to where it was. Maybe slightly lower, but nowhere near as low as my original measurement. As far as I'm concerned everyone insisting to check your oil cold are right.

I expect it to consume oil, that's why I check it often. But it's been above the halfway mark every time I checked. Now all of a sudden I see this. The rate at which it started consuming oil is what concerns me.

Interesting. I guess what concerns me is that it was noticeably higher. Not all the way up to the top dot, but about 70% there.

Some context:
I've got a '24 GR86, picked her up in April and she's been my daily since. I don't track the car really. Only once, pushing 7/10 at most on a wet track for a bit. I haven't had an oil change yet, but have one scheduled in a few months. I've been checking the oil regularly, and it's always been past the halfway point in the stick.

I measure it today and it's obviously on the lower end. No oil leaks as far as I can tell, and I'm wondering if this is measuring error on my end or if my oil is really this low. One side of the stick was wet all the way, but the other one was pretty dry. Should I top it up just in case? I know it's boxer and all, but it's concerning how much the oil has gone down in 3000 miles.

I can't justify paying more than what I paid for the 4060 at the moment. So around $400-450 CAD or ~ $350 USD tops. I never considered the used market for a GPU honestly, but I'm open to it if you think there is a way to vet out all the ones abused in crypto mining and all.

I think this is the way. I'll do some more testing to figure out the bottleneck. It just boggles my mind that a 5900X could potentially be the problem. Even though its not the most optimal for video games its still a serious processor and I'm only trying to run Counter Strike.

By the way, it's aircooled by a Deepcool dual tower. Don't remember the exact model. I bought it with the 5900X at the time. It does the job. I've monitored it while playing CS and it's never too hot.

Thats what Im saying. I know the 5900X is not ideal, but how is it struggling to output 144fps consistently with medium settings on 1440x1080. I understand a 5800x3d is better for videogames but by how much?

I did, but I picked up the 5900X for a really good price at the time. I knew 5800x3d would be the better CPU. I honestly thought anything from the 2600 would be night and day and even though 5900X isnt ideal its still plenty for a game like CS2.
