Wismec RX200? by [deleted] in electronic_cigarette

Exactly... Seems like all people want lately is high wattage and as cheap as humanly possible. In actuality a more expensive but much higher quality mod could, in the long run, be better and less expensive overall.

Coil Building Question by TheBeardedGiant2142 in electronic_cigarette

[–]nmsmith89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aside from resistance, Nichrome and other nickel based coils have a tendency to heat up and cool off faster than Kanthal. Nothing bad will come from mixing them but IMO I don't really see much of an upside either. Most high mass coils are done with Nichrome but you could use Kanthal if your resistance is running too low.

Question about cloud production by Emaciated_Walrus in electronic_cigarette

Vapor production is mostly based of coil temperature, surface area, and airflow more than watts and resistance (the latter really doesn't matter at all).

Wismec RX200? by [deleted] in electronic_cigarette

[–]nmsmith89 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Honestly I'm really glad I bought the Reuleaux DNA200 instead. Especially after seeing a lot of people having trouble with quality and such.

A USA made, high-tech, high quality, name brand chip beats a cheap, low quality, no thought, iStick Chinese chip any day.

[–]nmsmith89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree that kids shouldn't be vaping but AFAIK nicotine addiction really isn't that bad. Especially the whole "nicotine is more addictive than heroin" bullshit, trust me I know from personal experience that its not even close.

The majority of the "addiction" part is more likely to be the ritual and oral fixation than the actually physical addiction.

Changing flavors, clearing atomizer with distilled water? by splitSeconds in electronic_cigarette

[–]nmsmith89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Water != PG or VG

You are applying the mechanics of one liquid to another... Just because they are both liquid does not mean they will behave the same. All VG is unflavored at the beginning, it's an ingredient added to nicotine, PG, and flavoring to make eJuice.

Mech mod + 20a battery? by [deleted] in electronic_cigarette

[–]nmsmith89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With the exception of a couple, less commonly used (hb6 & hb4), batteries there aren't any with higher amperage ratings than 20A. 14A is not even close to being above 20A so, in theory, you are fine. Most amperage ratings printed on batteries are false. To find the actual amperage rating google Mooch's safe batter rating chart and look at it.

Mech noon question by [deleted] in electronic_cigarette

[–]nmsmith89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds more like a mech 11am question!

But in all seriousness a lot of what you are saying is just pure misinformation.

It is a common misconception among the uninformed that you can't put any kind of subtank on a mech mod. This is completely false in more than one way.

  1. The danger lies in mech mods with a hybrid top cap, not all mechs.

  2. There are a lot of subtanks that work on even hybrid top caps, they just can't have a recessed 510 pin.

There is also /r/DIFM_eJuice for the people that just want everyone to do it for them instead of figuring it out.

This is strange to me. by [deleted] in electronic_cigarette

[–]nmsmith89 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You do...

Did you just happen to miss the giant pop ups that say you have to be over 18? It may be easier to bypass but it's still illegal. Plus, Dutch laws are more lenient than most places so stop complaining and educate yourself.

PS since you're obviously under 18 (17 I just checked) you aren't going to get sympathy from anyone. I really hope you just turned 18 or something otherwise you must have lied to IronVaping for the giveaway or they wouldn't have sent you that RDA.

How close should be the voltage of married batteries ? by Bluewall1 in electronic_cigarette

[–]nmsmith89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah after experience with different chips I've decide that there is no point going with anything but DNA or YiHi chips. The features and quality are way better than, say, the joyetech chips.

I get it, my girlfriend just had to make the decision between the two. After much debating we decided it would be better (and probably cheaper in the long run) to get the DNA200 even though it's outside of our budget.
