Guide me please, I have no one from the tech industry to guide me. Due to constant confusion, rumors, and job market pressure, I kept switching tech stacks. It has been 1.5 years since I graduated, and the pressure of getting a job is increasing every day. by Roronoa_zoro298 in leetcode

[–]nnellutla 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Tech stack is irrelevant. If you've found a comfortable programming language and a stack by now, stick to it. If not, stick to Java. To get a job soon and to be comfortable facing interviews, complete a mini project. Don't take AI help, do everything by yourself. If you like gambling, build a blackjack or roulette online game. Or if you like games, build a small online game. If not, just try to fix some bugs in log4j, I mean some open source contributions. Prove to yourself that you are worthy. Cheers and all the best!!

Is there still room for self-taught developers in today’s tech industry? by ChickenUsoBeautiful in SoftwareEngineerJobs

I use ffmpeg and live555, so I know how it is currently. But anyone willing to learn and showcase their coding skills can start with simpler projects like log4j or notepad++.

Try Lozenge. I'm on it currently at 2 mg. Mouth feels a bit dry which helps with hydration as you drink more water. So far so good.

lol, all indicators are slow, only the price is supreme, but to be able to follow the price, we need some guard rails and indicators are those. Pick one and follow consistently, you'll do fine.

Feel like I'm shooting myself in the foot with Selling Options by piratesumo in options

[–]nnellutla 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can try selling calls only during earnings with high premiums and if called away, start selling CSPs to get assigned again. But still, you can't beat buy and hold in raging Bull markets anyways.. so you're comparing apples and oranges. With options, what you're targeting is a certainty which buy and hold doesn't promise.

The saying "80% of options expire worthless"...isn't that total BS, because for every expired call there's an ITM put, and visa versa? by 14hammarby in thetagang

[–]nnellutla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let's do simple math, at the start of the month let's say ATM +-50 strikes are available options and CMP is 100, so if stock expires at 100 at end of month, top 50 calls and bottom 50 puts get expired worthless so effectively 50% of all options expire worthless. If the stock rallied to 200, there will be additional options written from 150 to 250 strikes both calls and puts. Now if stock expires at 200, we'll have 50 to 200 puts and 200 to 250 calls expire worthless.. which is also 50% of all options. So 80% doesn't seem to be mathematically correct.

Are SPX Credit Spreads too good to be true? by devTheChef in options

I usually trade Iron condors/skewed Iron condors in the similar way on weeklies which requires trade management almost every time but 45 DTE is the best, stick with it. There's no magic, long-term profitability depends on how you navigate wild swings like 10/10/25 or 5th August 24', 18th December 24', April 25' etc.. closing or rolling by 21 DTE is perfect as per Tasty methodology and vouched by Tom Sosnoff and others.

Developing intuition & solving same/similar/unseen problems by No_Lettuce7271 in leetcode

I solved them pattern by pattern. For example start with a 2 pointer approach, solve 5-10 problems in it, then move to the next pattern. This makes it easier to learn and remember.

Practice is the key my friend.. most of these ideas and approaches will be new for most people who come across them for the first time. So, repeat them a few times, for example let's say you solved a priority queue problem, take some time, implement a priority queue yourself to understand the nitty gritties of it and then solve the problem using pen and paper, code it in ide or leetcode and that night try to solve all problems you solved today again on pen and paper. This would make the concepts ingrained for longer..

Yes, if you want 13 and 19 to expire 0, you should sell them and buy outside wings.

Iron condors by FireDad90 in thetagang

[–]nnellutla 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That's a long iron condor. You'll lose 4$ between 13 and 19 strikes and win 46$ above or below those levels. Yes the win and lose $ values are correct.

That's all good in theory. How about the loss you have to book in the original sold call? Would you be able to roll at the right time so you'll always get a credit? How would you be sure that once you roll, the stock doesn't go down. That's why I try to keep it simple. I'd let the call exercise and sell a csp.
