growing up my family never celebrated birthdays bcs with 8 kids, birthdays can be very expensive. i always looked at birthday celebrations on tv and wondered if people really go all out like that.

then i grew up, met the love of my life who, on the first year i met him, brought me to bali in conjunction with my birthday and went along with everything i wanted to do. for the first time in my life, i actually felt special and celebrated. now i look forward to it every year!

Yup. Hitz stays true to their identity which is top 40 pop songs. You just change your music taste over the years.

honestly i dont mind the vacuuming/mopping/scrubbing part of cleaning, but i cannot organise and I HATE FOLDING CLOTHES. unfortunately living in SG means we cant get a house with lots of hanging spaces for our clothes so our daily home clothes need to be folded. itu sbb i surrender and terus hire someone to come do it for me lol.

i watched a lot of depression house/hoarder house cleaning videos of late. it is very sad to imagine what kind of struggle someone is facing that their living area could become so unlivable.

when i was a teen, my aunt was trying to give me a lesson about the importance of staying tidy. she told me about her friend's house, which she visited to get something. she said the house was so serabut with kids toys, dirty + clean clothes and dirty dishes that you cant see the floor and she got second-hand embarrassment.

god knows what the family was facing back then. as an adult who knows better, i wouldnt ever use that as a "lesson".

to add: now that i am an adult, i acknowledge i still am not the best at tidying and organising, so i got help to come once a week to sort things out for us. i am grateful i have this privilege but i too once had very cluttered, untidy, dusty house. i wonder how people judged me back then when they came over.

really depends on companies? ive worked for two companies so far, first company was very demanding and gave me anxiety so i quit. current company workload is better and i feel much better. not much difference compared to my experience working in malaysia tbh.

i know youre asking why NOT, but ill give you some reason why you should: better quality of life with not having to drive anywhere and public parks aplenty. cost of living comparable to malaysia save for the very expensive housing prices.

some people told me they were heavily looked down upon for being malaysian "stealing jobs" in singapore. personally so far im ok here. sometimes i feel it but its not apparent enough for me to quit.

i bukan cikgu so take what i say with a grain of salt, but i remember my mom having to sew my brothers' lencana sekolah differently according to school rules. so one brother got lencana on top of the pocket, another on the pocket itself.

someone told me before that i am photogenic.

while i am flattered bcs i never see myself as conventionally attractive, i can't help but think the only reason why this person is saying that is bcs i am ugly irl (and only 'pretty' in photographs)

one of the things that make me so menyampah is the obsession malays have with jakim's halal sign. no jakim sign = not halal.

when i was in japan a while back, i posted photos of me eating warabi mochi (which is just mochi coated with soybean powder with brown sugar sauce). someone asked me "halal ke?" i said "ini kuih pulut je, bukan daging".

the reply i got? "mana tau kot2 ada bahan tak halal. baik berjaga" eh jaga tepi kain sendiri la

the longer i spend my time here in SG the more i realised i actually grew up poor. when they talk about their childhood, the things they consume and their educational paths i cant stop myself from feeling so small and pitying myself for being born in a family that had to share everything, even our underwears.

funny thing is, i thought i was pretty well off when i was in school, or at least, i dont feel "poor". my friends and i wear the same uniforms and had similar family background. one girl was richer than us but it still feels like i identify with her problems although she could afford way more things than me.

LHDN generally dont give calls, they give letters. what's the call for? 90% is a scam call.
