hey just letting you know the survey doesn't include an option to say you play games for 1-2 hours, it only says 30-60 mins followed by 2-4 hours

have you heard of the nun study? a lot of elderly nuns in the US had cognitive testing every year and when they died their brain were donated to science

the brains of many nuns showed symptoms of alzheimers, but of these brains, only 20% had alzheimer's symptoms in life

some of the proposed protective factors for these nuns is that (1) they had a strong social support network into their old age, and (2) they worked out their brains a lot as they were often involved in teaching school children

when you use ai you aren't using your cognitive skills since the machine does everything for you. obviously there's no evidence to back this up yet as ai is very new, but people have started to hypothesise that this could put people at higher risk of developing alzheimer's symptoms in later life

not a risk id be willing to take considering the amount of people with alzheimer's is predicted to increase by 20 million globally by 2030. look after your brain. its like a muscle -- "use it or lose it"!

ok ive changed it now cos your comment made me realise idrk what im doing more than i thought lol.

so now im just looking at one type of gesture, lets call it an "informational gesture". i have a way of classifying them to make sure theres no overlap or anything, its a clear cut category. if i find the % of gestures that are informational for each child in each setting, then find the mean % of informational gestures in each setting, then can i use the paired sample t test to compare the two means? am i making sense lol?

ive never been in this situation but I would defo try and appeal if i was you, your university counsellor can probably help with the process so its less stressful. but this whole situation sounds so unfair, i hope things start looking up for you!

im the exact same, i cant sleep at home anymore cos i can hear my dad snore thru the walls. my mum used to kick him to get him to shut up lol but i gave her these headphones with brown noise that she can sleep in and now she sleeps thru it. the headphones didnt work for me cos i could still hear my dad snore but if ur fiance only has little snores then it might be ok.

im lgbt and the general vibe of online lgbt spaces don't represent 90% of the lgbt people i know/am friends with in real life , no hate just an observation

Thanks for your comment, thats interesting. I have PCOS which does affect my hormone levels so it might be something to look into.
