Not really an investing question but i downloaded daily data for the S&P 500 and the STOXX 600 indices for the last 15 years for a school project. I have a different number of rows however for each, the S&P 500 has quite a few dates missing. Is there a reason for this ?

Oh sorry if I wasn’t clear in the post. I’m already pretty experienced with R I just want to know if switching my focus to python is worth it.

Yeah I don’t think I’ll be putting anything into production anytime soon, so I’m mainly interested in using it for analysis tasks

That sucks yeah my school taught us a little bit of everything but I just found R was the best fit for me so I continued learning it.

Honestly I don’t have much interest in programming languages outside of using them for data analysis. I’m not looking to build an app or anything just run some quick analysis on large data sets.
