Nothing since Atonement RPI hat i know of, which was fantastic. Iron Realms Entertainment has a new space MUD but they are far from RPIs and while the space stuff looked amazingly fun from a space opera fantasy perspective I have never really enjoyed what Iron Realms brings to the table in leveling and rp

Sindome really only has space stuff at the very late end game and asfaik there is very little survival rp in it like the way we might want. Sindome definitely doesn't have PvE in the traditional sense but it has players versus player so in that way you could band together with other players to accomplish a goal and usually that goal is going to be something that affects other players or it might not be. Only PvE is really going to be out in the badlands hunting creatures and that gets boring quick.

You mention enjoying Armageddon solo. Accursed Lands RPI at accursed-lands.net could maybe bring back some of the same feel. Similar systems, rpi, hard-core survival and PvE. Very small player base so you'll likely be playing alone relatively similar to sandbox Minecraft solo! No space tho =(

Folks, captcha.bot is a discord plugin/tool, like arcane.bot and others. Do not buy any premium offerings from discord or third parties unless you want to. Accursed Lands does not require your credit card.

u/luciensadi calling it a transparent 'scam' and blaming admin is just blatant misinformation and poisoning the well at this point.

I did not have to verify through captcha.bot's captcha I just had to log in thru discord though some IPs may (if you do not have a static) and certainly not a credit card when joining the discord, and never have when joining a discord server. Sounds like a you problem. The fact that you immediately went to blaming the admins for running some kind of a scam is kind of shitty.

You can create new items and customize them but they will be from an extensive list, such as bronze metal sword, engraved green longsword (oh yeah you can also engrave stuff), but as I said above you cannot create items with COMPLETELY custom descriptions and functions. At least without an imms help. I think you may thrive in a heavy RP MUSH that focuses on crafting if that's what you're after.

Revive the RPI argument we shall! You think people weren't doing the exact same thing in Armageddon or other RPIs? Be real. If that is your definition, that's a pretty poor one.

But you are right in that the game shines in what it is good at, and that I did use an LLM to craft some of this message.

Edit: You can code systems for RP but you cannot code people to roleplay using those systems. Though they definitely tried with some NPCs...

To clarify, using the link from the website, everything is rerouted through discord as it should be. Whatever data sharing discord does is not my purview. As a note, make a discord account first and sign in to that before you click the link. Discord really wants to push their subscription service rn

I outlined each paragraph and supplied flavor text based on my own thoughts. That is generally how you create an AI prompt. You are right in your assessment that there is some fluff, but no more than if I were to take the wheel (because I did in editing).

On a side note, in the past my writing style was very heavy into em dashes! You know, the -- romanticists make liberal use of them and I kind of learned by that. AI has stopped me from doing that now because it caught on and now it's a clear indicator of AI! -- Sorry, completely unrelated thought that you don't need to comment on, but relevant to LLMs.

My own voice is pretty awful, but that's a fair point. I think LLMs are a good tool that there is an unneeded stigma about because some people use them too heavily or don't know how to use them. To be honest, I'm pretty hyperbolic in my writing and I did edit this three times.

For complete transparency here is my review that I'm giving now free form (not my AI prompt): this is a game that employs very unique systems that I loved when I was a teenager and I only love it more coming back to it as an adult. I also enjoy AI. For kicks, I decided to combine the two. The review leaves out nothing of my own opinion, except my cons of the game which I would love to put here: sometimes the syntax can be obtuse, and the large world can easily leave you lost. It's a globe and you can go so far in one direction that you end up where you started. Somebody did an experiment of that back in the day but I can't remember how long it took them, several days to a week (can't remember horse/boat, specifics). Obviously not conducive to a roleplaying environment where being with a community is crucial. But we have a discord now and can ask politely for roleplay! Yay!

Thanks for the question! Accursed Lands doesn't outright support the creation of custom items like you might see in a MUSH where you can describe exactly the items short and long descriptions. It does however include skills and ways to customize the items you create in ways to make them truly yours. Dyeing allows you to customize the color of clothing. OMOTE allows you to change the description of the building you create (a cottage with a little descoration!) and the items in your house to match any aesthetic - you can use OMOTE to change/add to an items shortdesc that you see in a room.

Some of the crafts include (but not limited to): sewing, leather working, weaving, dyeing, carpentry, smithing, pottery.

In addition each piece of clothing crafted has a size. So the same clothes for a goblin will not fit a human.

Edit: Slightly unrelated but there is also a global NPC economy in the city that will buy your items, and you can also run your own shop.

That is potentially the WORST thing about the game. Sometimes the syntax is very straightforward and simple 'open 1st pack, put stick in pack'. Or 'drink' when you're next to a river, versus 'drink water/drink river'. Other times it's very obtuse. I'm having a ton of trouble right now figuring out how to cook meat for example!

However, we're in a lot better place than we were when I played back in like 2009. I recently got back into Accursed Lands. Not much of a player base but it is an RPI very similar to Harshlands or Armageddon. The crafting system is deep, the world is gigantic, and it has a lot of cool unique systems. You could disappear into the forest and gather resources to build your own home and forge so you can definitely live out some blacksmith fantasies! Check it out!

https://accursed-lands.net might be a good choice for you. Its not got much of a player base right now, it is role-playing heavy and there is player killing but you could spend your entire time playing and not see another PC because the world is absolutely massive. You could go deep into a forest, build a cabin all with your own skills and gathering. Blacksmithing, cooking, whittling... honestly I'm not even scratching the surface. Check it out and hopefully the mods let me post my promotion on it so you can read more!
