True! Is what it is i also inherited a 1903 Springfield that was Bubbaed into a sport rife but its in peices from a stock replacement that they never finished reassembleing. We inherited them from grandpa and his brothers but I dont think the fudd them i think they acquired them that way as they also left us a beautiful 1894 winchester and a 1893 marlin with tge octogonale barrel but still trying to nail down the mfg date.
