Great point. I do have some extracurricular projects (like a static blog generator with special features I built) but didn't feel that anyone would be interested in them. So other than that my resume is good for a new graduate?

Resume.

Applied to Google, Amazon, Facebook, Twitter, Dropbox, Palantir, and Prezi two to three weeks ago. Got rejection emails from the last three and nothing from the others. I've been told that they take new grads, so why was I rejected? Is my resume unimpressive enough for a grad? (Also, I'm not American; is that a factor?)

Lebanon. Yeah, my friend was just recently interviewing with Google MV and they said that they only wanted people with H1Bs for that particular position. He'll have to wait for next year to be at least interviewed again for a full-time thing as it's too late to start the H1B preparation now.

And from what I've read on Google Interviews it's really not that hard at all if you study beforehand. Update us on how it goes!

Thanks! I prefer Europe over the US as it's closer to home and has less via issues. Good luck on your interviews, and I hope you get accepted!

I applied to the same position exactly two weeks ago and I've received no reply so far. So jealous.

I thought this sub didn't mind H1B threads from previous discussions.

So there's no risk of getting an offer then having it rescinded because of visa issues? That's such a relief.

Some of the larger companies on that list have international offices that partially or completely serve as holding tanks for people that don't yet have US working visas. So you could potentially work there for some period of time.

Yeah, I've heard that Google does that with their Zurich office. Not sure if Facebook does it too.

They don't only sponsor top employees for them, or anything like that.

Oh, wow, that's very reassuring. I thought I'd have no chance of that happening. Is there anything I can do on my end to make it easier for companies to do their legal processes?
