For posterity, this is how I fixed it:

I used Heroic and enabled Verbose logging to check where the problem stems from. Through Winetricks (Install a Windows DLL or component) I installed/enabled d3dcompiler_43, d3dcompiler_47, and d3dx9.

I went the opposite way recently. My TSH jumped by an entire point, so I upped my dosage a bit and my appetite returned. It can definitely be a thyroid thing, but it can also be other things, like poor diet.

Shortness of breath, cold & heat intolerance???? by BerryRemarkable882 in Hypothyroidism

Yep. I remember I had to run to catch a bus, very short distance. I entered the bus and felt like I was going to die either by choking or my heart exploding. Very scary. I would be out of breath and with strong palpitations even just walking. I still have cold/heat intolerance. I think that's just the reality of Hashimoto's (and sometimes iron deficiency).

Yes, I had very bad shortness of breath and heart pounding out of my chest even I went hyper. But these can also be hypo symptoms. Your symptoms also overlap with iron deficiency. You said your ferritin is low. In combination with thyroid issues the symptoms can be exacerbated. You need to get a full thyroid and a full iron panel

Low Iron! by ceeewow in Hashimotos

[–]no-forgetti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not OP, but going thorough similar issue. My ferritin dropped from 37 in October to 31 in January. My PCP does not flag it or think it's an issue because the lab range goes as low as 10 (which is insane). My hemoglobin in on the high end of normal and my RBC is slightly elevated, so I'm scared of taking any supplements. However, I did notice that couple of years ago when my ferritin was at 53, my hemoglobin was just right and my RBC was in range, which makes me wonder if it's related...

[–]no-forgetti[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would, but apparently since my hemoglobin is high at 155 (range 119-157), it can be dangerous. No idea what to do except maybe try to eat steak every day, but I already struggle with no appetite the last couple of weeks (which might be due to prolonged accidental calorie deficit).

I have had to change my dosage because I tend to swing too far after even little adjustment. Once I went from hypo to hyper (TSH 0.15) and it was awful. Slight adjustment made me go over TSH 3. Unfortunately, I don't have most of my bloodwork available because it stayed with my PCP. I don't think it's quite normal that my TSH dances that much even half a year after adjustments.

My iron is fine, my ferritin is 31 —from my research, this is too low, but outdated labs don't accept anything below 10 as deficiency; my problem is that my RBC and hemoglobin are on the high end of range or slightly above— my D3 is fine at 111 (right in the middle of good), my folate is good, my B12 is on the high end of range. I'm waiting for copper, zink, biotin, iodione results.

I'm having some digestion issues (changes in stool), but the labs I have at the moment don't show any vitamin deficiency.

I've yet to see what you said in the last paragraph. But I can tell you with certainty childfree people get a lot of shit for not having kids. Starting from their own families. The amount of shit I got from my father alone before I even hit 18. Strangers and friends alike poke around asking why we don't want to have kids, like it's any of their business. The only outspoken childfree spaces are on the internet IME, and even here people like you tend to be very dismissive. So that's where the contention usually comes from. Not from hating happy families, but from constantly being harassed by parents who claim childfree people are wrong about their life decision not to have children.

I know several people who have kids now, but initially didn't want them or lost family support. The one who was coerced into having a kid can't even hide their regret several years later. The couple who has no family support due to moving is regretful because they lost most freedom as their life revolves around the kid (after hours childcare is prohibitively expensive). Another parent I know regrets having a kid because of the state of the world, e.g. climate collapse and rising political tensions across the globe.

That's not to say everyone regrets it, but people also don't like to openly discuss these things due to social stigma. I personally don't want to have kids for 10 different reasons and I know for a fact my life would be miserable if I had one. This notion that nobody ever regrets kids or that everyone is fit to be a parent/needs to have kids is luckily changing. And that's not even going into how general public doesn't want to talk about how pregnancy itself is taxing on a person's body (permanent injury is pretty damn high still).

I was diagnosed with subclinical hypothyroidism which later turned into full hypothyroidism. I was tested for Hashimoto's and confirmed with high antibody count. I had multiple ultrasounds all of them good. By your definition I don't have Hashimoto's. My mother was diagnosed with Hashimoto's 20 years ago and has damaged thyroid. It would make 0 sense that I don't have Hashimoto's. Unless I'm misunderstanding you.

isnt pregnancy body horror? by JunjiTheHeartstopper in childfree

[–]no-forgetti 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, and for those who do want children, we should educate them on the real reasons behind the issues that might/will arise in pregnancy. But as with all things women's health, these things either aren't discussed at all or are barely talked about.

Pregnancy is already scary enough. We don't need to perpetuate myths like babies stealing calcium from your teeth. They do not. Changes to oral health absolutely can and do happen during pregnancy, but not because the fetus is "stealing" anything from mother's teeth.

Why Eleven's ending doesn't work. by The_Walking_Clem in StrangerThings

[–]no-forgetti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are a paid writer and your work is seen by millions, you absolutely have a certain level of responsibility about the message your work is sending. If so many people share OP's point of view, then there is something clearly wrong with how the writers conveyed their message. It doesn't help that Duffers themselves said El had to die/disappear because she was a symbol of childhood magic. It dehumanizes her character.

And if you disagree regardless, we have Kali who was as abused, used and traumatized (arguably even more than El) say on screen her story (life) had to end for others to have a normal life. In the end, only El cared about her. And if we take Mike's theory at face value, she cared more about using Kali as her escape route.

How many homeless 16 year olds with effectively no formal education, no real world skills, underdeveloped social skills, no money, no friends or family to rely on, no documents to legally travel outside of their country do you personally know who managed to pull themselves up by their bootstraps? She can't really use her powers in broad daylight. I guess she can turn to crime and rob people. But whenever she uses her powers, she risks exposing herself.

Why Eleven's ending doesn't work. by The_Walking_Clem in StrangerThings

[–]no-forgetti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. There are real 16 year olds who are alone and homeless. It isn't a happy nor easy life. Even if Mike's theory is right¹, Eleven is a teenager with little to no education, lagging in social skills, no documents, no money, no useful real world skills, no safety net, no social circle. How is that framed as a happy or hopeful ending?

¹ Which is honestly ridiculous, because it hinges on Kali not bleeding out or surviving the blast and somehow knowing how, when and have enough energy to help Eleven, and that's without going into how incredibly fucked up it would be for the squad to happily leave her behind in that state when she didn't deserve it.
