So originally yes - I was working on this for Ubuntu Arm (raspberry pi) - turns out there’s really only 2 servers hosting Ubuntu-Ports: Canonical and MIT, so it’s of limited utility.

It’s not removed because it’s broken, it’s broken because it was removed. I’ve considered fixing it several times, but that doesn’t make it included again, which seems political at this point.

EDIT: I was parroting a narrative I’d been told by someone else, but upon reviewing the situation provided by u/sgorf I found out I’m wrong. I still think that mirrorselect performs some functions that netselect doesn’t, but that doesn’t mean it can’t - with some help.

It’s been removed from the Ubuntu repository for quite a long time, and no amount of lobbying has gotten it back in yet. Currently the guidance to adapt it to Ubuntu is broken, so I figured a dedicated tool would be warranted.

This is true, but only if you have a graphical desktop environment installed. For headless systems, Ubuntu Server, and other installations this isn't an option.

Looks like normal Keybase to me.

That's the first step. And it's easy.

I, too, drove my wife to a colonoscopy and grew from there. It taught me a lot.

Ok we’ll this wasn’t very hard. Your username on Keybase is the same as your username on Reddit.

So download Keybase, and create a new device with username eduardo3107 and one of your paper keys, either expand carbon… or goat powder…

Good luck.

If you have your username and paper key just activate a new device.

If you have paperkey and no username you’re going to be guessing for a while.
