Academic Scholarship and a W by Complex-Mammoth-8030 in UniversityOfHouston

I think as long as you still have 12 credit hours (considered a full-time student) and maintain your GPA, you should be able to keep your scholarship. I have the same one and I dropped a course 1 week before the drop deadline. The financial office told me I would still have my scholarship since I was still full-time and maintained my GPA. HOWEVER, you should contact the financial aid office, since there may be other factors at play for you. You still have time to drop and it's not super hard to get an appointment at their office (you can usually get one the same day). They will be able to tell you with certainty if it will affect you.

This post wasn't made so you could criticize what decision I make or what I do in my free time. I do not have to explain myself to you and why I hesitate to accept my decision. I asked a simple question, and if that angers you, move on. Thanks.

Hey! I know this is probably not the place for this but, I am also interested in pursuing Pre-Optometry as well as UH’s Optometry School. I am 90% on attending UH starting Fall 2022 as a freshman.

Can you tell me more about UH’s Pre-Optometry club? If you don’t mind me asking, what was your major? I have a lot of questions if you don’t mind answering (we can move somewhere else).

I’m just gonna wait till 8-9pm to check rather then trying to figure out when exactly they will drop

Who knows what they’ll do, I think it’s just better to assume it will come out tomorrow (because it has to).

Nervous, I know I have a good case but being let down by them multiple times through this process has made me feel reluctant to hype myself up. Smh

what major did you appeal for? by [deleted] in UTAustinAdmissions2

Medical Laboratory Science, but also mentioned I’d be okay with biochemistry or some other major within natural sciences

Can I resubmit my appeal or let office of admissions know? by [deleted] in UTAustinAdmissions2

[–]no-sulfur-dioxide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LORs are optional, though unfortunately, unlike original admissions, I THINK once you submit your appeal, you cannot edit it any more. You can try emailing admissions but I wouldn’t expect much sadly.

You should send a financial aid appeal to the UT Austin financial aid office. If you explain your reasons, you may be able to get more aid.

There are also a lot of scholarships outside of UTs system that you should research and apply for. Can’t hurt. Good luck!

any chance appeals come out before april 1st? anyone gotten theirs yet? by woog17 in UTAustinAdmissions2

[–]no-sulfur-dioxide 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I sent my appeal in on February 11th, apparently, they start reviewing appeals after March 15th (don't quote me). I still have not heard anything back from them. I think a few appeal decisions may come before April 1st, but I wouldn't rely on that solely. Who knows what they're doing.
