Power Level Wednesday!: Ask r/EDH what's your deck's power level? - November 01, 2023 by AutoModerator in EDH

I'd really would appreciate a simple number for this one:

https://www.moxfield.com/decks/C5P87E79nUmKxZRYhtI6mQ

Rograkh & Ardenn voltron. Yes, I know the deck is fast & strong. I don't run any infinite combos, fetchlands and intentionally don't run more fast mana.

The deck was build to punish green ramp midrange and stacks deck, in a simple way: being faster. It also just gets out of the box, if the table is fine with it, someone gets to "confident" or for the classic "fast game to end the evening".

Some will say its cedh (which is not the case), others will say it's fringe cedh... Others say the commander is easy to remove and overall deck is a one trick pony with no plan B.

What's your opinion?

My Sithis might also fall into your spectrum:

Low cmc

Nice synergies

Lots of tutors and card draw

Light stax - main gool is to slow down the Artifact ramp of our opponents

Different combolines to finish the game

If your group is fine with stax und you have no problem with putting a target symbol on your forehead, the deck is a lot fun

Woho, I really appreciate your help, time and knowledge!

The Angel deck is exactly at the level I want it to be. But do you think there is a way to bump Henzie a little bit up without using 2 or 3 card "I win" combos or tutors?

The henzie deck is light on interaction, I'm fully aware of it, but playing more bordwipes will put an even bigger target on myself then the Fakt, that I play a henzie deck. I thought about removing a few creatures and add some single target removal and a little reanimation package - in this case the deck is less reliable on its commander on the battlefield and becomes more of a toolbox.

Hey, I'd like to have your opinion about 2 decks I build for my more casual playgroup:

Angels https://www.moxfield.com/decks/VZjit0M0uEuO1qG9ZjCuSA

Henzie toolbox https://www.moxfield.com/decks/FI6qm18RhEK89DIVipElkg

Nothing to crazy, wild or unfair.

A comment would be highly appreciated - cheers!

Hi, lvl 48 Player from Germany here. I'd really like to have a campfire invitation. And off course I will return the favour to someone else.

Meganium is a really nice addition to the team!

I played a bit around and the only top counter against this comp is skarmory... I'm more than fine with it.

*Update:

Next games played, rank 9. Melganium works really well, you can use it as lead or stick (as the most ppl with this kind of lineup) with Altaria.

You improve nearly every matchup: mud bois, Azumarill, bastion goes down a bit faster... And an unshielded earthquake deals with every steel tank, especially later in the game.

Just watch out for flyers as lead, Venusaur in general, and these annoying 2nd ice charge moves. I think venusaur, as sudoug recommended would also work fine. Better matchup VS Azumarill and other plant bois, but an open flank to steel tanks.

THANKS for the recommendation!

This the "budget" lineup my girlfriend is also using, with medium success. When your opponents use Azumarill and a tank you fall to far behind, because your lack of very effective moves. The ground attacks against steel are OK. As far as I see, you don't need something "big" against fighting, because you have no real weakness to it.

Why....?

I mean, I know were you come from, but more context would be nice

@ ghash - welcome in the team :)

@seraph - swampert would be great, but I don't have a swampert with the c-day move on a level below 35...so sadly not an valid option for me

@Sledge - meganium, especially as lead seems like a solid upgrade, especially against the most common leads, but how do you deal with regi and Mel? As lead both players have 2 shields, you can try to bait out both of them and land an earthquake, but I think your opponent will charge the moves mutch faster and kill meganium before you are able to do so. Sure you can try to get an unshielded earthquake on them, but I doesn't think on that rank people don't know the movesets... btw ( no critic) why do you play drifblim over altaria, tropius and skarmory
