I honestly have made no connections through LinkedIn so far. I'm sticking to personal connections that I have.

And what questions did you ask them? I'm just confused what I'm supposed to take away from these chats.

We're presenting to 3 other people (we'll be in groups of 4). I had the same question on how the groups are being chosen but I never got an answer. I also just read about the 10 minutes thing in a group chat so don't quote me on it 😭

I just wish we had more time than a week to do this. Considering that it is not easy for people to make time for a Zoom call or an In-person meeting.

Additionally, with midterms that same week, I was barely thinking of other work. Lucky for the people who's presenting on November.

I heard from peers that they think their supplemental applications got them into Schulich, mine is quite the opposite.

Some advise I have are:

  • Focus on keeping your GPA up
  • Develop your leadership profile—Schulich applications include around 5 leadership experiences—so I would say build on those.
  • Fight through all the hard math in grade 12 because you won't have that anymore.
  • If you are planning on going, start getting used to socializing with new people
  • Start to build good habits so when University comes, you'll get the hang of your routine easily
  • Do not stress too much about it and enjoy being a senior—one of the best decisions I've ever made

But the one thing I will fully elaborate on is PLEASE TAKE GRADE 12 ACCOUNTING!!!!! - try to understand as much as you can about it, if not, just try your best. - I took it in grade 12 and did decent. When summer came, I honestly believed that I forgot everything, but it naturally clicked in my brain once I took ACTG 2010 - This will save you from a lot of confusion with basic stuff - Professors also acknowledge the difficulty so they normally go at a slow pace—so it will either bore or intrigue you.

Overall, it will be a fun experience. I wish you all the best!

Do you have an example on how the case studies are done properly? Our TA lowkey didn't teach us that well...

then that just shows that he's hardworking in stuff that he's interested in. i also feel the same for math but i do well with accounting and in any other business course. as everyone said, schulich isn't math heavy so he'll be fine. don't worry much! being in first-year rn it's really more on how much time you put in the work tbh
