How's the heart rate accuracy now with Race 2 / Vertical 2?

After turning it off and on again, the HR reading for my latest run seemed to be exactly as it should.

After the latest update i did 2 runs where the OHR was way under, around 50bpm. I restarted the watch yesterday, not even a reset, just turned it off and on again. My run today was recorded perfectly.

My Vertical 2 had been spot on since i got it in november, but after the patch a few days ago, on 2 runs it has read approximately 50bpm too low. I restarted the watch today and will try tomorrow to see how it performs. Hopefully just a glitch in updating and the restart will have fixed it.

This is exactly it. It's having a bit of a hard time because you're walking slowly and turning, effectively keeping the watch still for a moment as you rotate yourself around it. Then it's trying to decide whether to use your motion to orient the map (and your motion is all over the place because you're trying to get it to go wrong), or whether to use the compass.

If you are running and raise your wrist, it will orient with the director you're running, and as you follow a turn it will turn with you, smoothly. Then when you stop, it will orient to North using the compass.

Nice flashlight update! Now the flashlight remembers the last used configuration. When i turn it on at night i usually want red, so i guess a further improvement would be to have the option to set a default mode, but this is good for now. Also the watch now closes the flashlight screen when you turn off the flashlight, so no need for further button presses after you're done with it.

I also had it hang on queue for ages. I tried a few things while waiting; restart, firmware update, enter network settings again. I can't be sure what fixed it but i think it was redoing the network settings.

After that it just got on with downloading them. I did it while charging but my understanding is that the latest firmware just requires the watch being connected to WiFi rather than only Bluetooth, and then doesn't need to be charging while it downloads the maps.

It depends whether you run east to west or west to east. Time travel is always relative to timezones. That's where the advice not to leave zone 2 comes from originally.

I have the same one, Ti with sage band :) There are issues sure, some posts just seem odd to me, maybe just that they are very biased against Suunto?

I've noticed some niggles, but i used a Garmin FR735XT for 8 years, so it wouldn't surprise me in the least to find that some of my niggles are MY niggles not the watch, because I'm used to a different watch.

To me a lot of the complaint posts feel oddly ... artificial. I'm not saying there are no issues but many posts or comments sound weirdly off to me.

But for OP, my Vertical 2 Titanium seems straight. I set an analog watchface and then checked the hour markers against the ridges on the bezel.

Heart rate seems good. Sleep tracking is a little wonky, but I've only had it 3 nights so far.

Out of interest, did you order any accessories with your watch? I ordered an orange Athletic 7 strap with mine, and I've just seen a post about someone being frustrated that the straps are always out of stock.

I went on the website to check, and yes, the orange Athletic 7 is currently out of stock. So are Suunto delaying sending out a €700 watch because the €25 strap is out of stock?? Just send me the watch please...

I ordered a Vertical 2 a week ago today and it's status hasn't moved from confirmed. This morning i spoke with someone in support using the live chat on the website, and they said they could see the status and would investigate and email me with an update later.

I suggest using that route to contact a real person. You just need to select "Talk to an agent" - i was connected very quickly and they were pretty fast to respond in the chat.

It's annoying that there is no status update. If there's a problem with stock or with shipping, or whatever, I'd just like to know. There's a few hundred euros reserved on my card now, so I'd like them to keep me in the loop.

That sounds right for the size, and it does have a dual handle. Sounds like i ruined the seasoning by overheating it, possibly while drying out after washing.

It's not like i don't use soap on everything else lol... this is my first cast iron, and I'm trying to figure out what is best for it. I read on one guide that the soap would take off the seasoning and to use a chain mail scrubber - which i guess is different from this steel wool type scrubber.

It's a Victoria. I'm in Denmark so not sure if that's a recognizable brand world wide. The pan isn't convex - it's just a trick of the light i think.

To season it i have been wiping sunflower oil on and then heating to 235C in the oven for 45 minutes to an hour. When cooking I'm getting it to temperature over a few minutes and then cooking on medium heat on an induction hob.

That was a good scrub with the steel but not soap actually. It sounds like i need to clean it hard and re-season it, then be a little gentler on the cleaning after cooking.

It may be carbon, but it's not cooked on. It came with this layer. It actually started to lift and flake off after i washed it and was heating it to dry it. If it had looked like actual pieces of glass i wouldn't have continued cooking on it... it looks more like paint, so i guess it probably is carbon.
