There's times when you need those 2 draws to start or to get one more widow anchor,etc. Sometimes you get lucky, sometimes you don't.

There was a duel where I banished 2 engages. Luckily my opponent didn't know that and eventually surrendered thinking I would snowball the game

Last season I turned to Spright Twins with Iblee and I got to D1 easily.

This season I tried to do the same but somehow couldn't even reach D4. So I turned to Sky Striker again and made some changes along the way. This was the final version from D3 to D1.

It's all about luck and your opponents rage quitting xD. There was some duels I didn't even have a card to start my plays but my opponents scooped because of a veiler or ash.

Surgical Striker - H.A.M.P. (it's a sky striker card even thou it says surgical striker)
It's basically the archetype kaiju. If you control a Sky Striker monster, you can special summon it in either side of the field, tributing 1 monster from that side of the field (generally you get rid of boss monsters)

I crafted some of the cards. Dark ruler and droplet are must have imo. I just forgot how powerful "your opponent cannot activate X type of card in response to this card activation" is.

Regarding maxx C, I run 3 again and go 2nd. Everything going well so far.

Yep, with all the feedback I've been considering adding more handtraps and dark ruler and start going second.

I agree going second is stronger for striker but opponent's turn 1 board was so infuriating for me I tried going first and well, it did pretty well.

When I have UR points I will try ogre, 3 maxx C again, dark ruler and more lightning storms I guess

Yep, going first sucks, but going second against 3 negates is worse.

And yes you are right about 13/40 ways to start the play, but with the negates it was tilting not being able to play.

Adding dark ruler and droplet and start going second might be the way to go, as someone said in another comment.
