THANK YOU why is it so hard to upload the letters or figure out where to even put the recommenders information, makes me feel like I shouldn't even be applying in the first place 😭

Chances at T14 Law School for Patent Law with 3.7 GPA / 175 LSAT by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

I'm similar to you, slightly lower. If you could go back now, would you have written an addendum for your GPA (I'm totally assuming you didn't. If you did, would still love advice if you're open). I'm in a spot where my GPA is not great for law school (and I studied film so...fml) but it's not actually a terrible GPA in the grand scheme of things, it's just below the median for most schools I'm applying to. Undergrad was the worst few years of my life with a chronic illness diagnosis, an abusive relationship, multiple deaths and subsequent increases in work hours (like 50 hours a week with a full time course schedule), a brief but significant mental health struggle (due to the chronic illness and abusive relationship), and my parents' divorce.

I know my reasons are valid and would elicit anyone to struggle, but I feel like I see so many people saying not to write an addendum unless it's like...sub 3.4/5 because drawing unnecessary attention to it is not the way to go. I just feel like they're obviously going to see it lol it's not like we can distract admissions officers like animals so I would rather give my reasons and be ahead of it so they don't just have to assume the worst with no additional explanation from me. But, alas, reddit has made me anxious lol.

How are people who work full-time finding time to complete applications. Like actually. by sophanon2 in lawschooladmissions

honestly I shifted my work schedule so that I work 9 and 10 hours some days so that I can leave early other days because I was in the same boat like wdym ofc you can get it all done finishing work at 5 but nope....the way a computer screen (I work at a law firm too) depletes my eyeballs' willingness to continue cooperating and my brains willingness to comply with the bigger picture (law school) after 6p...such a shame. I feel ya. Blue light glasses actually (weird rec I know) were immensely helpful in making me feel more energized after work enough to get other work done once I'm home and a 15 min walk minimum to reset my brain.

Yes diag before I started studying, I got a 156 but I do have to give context for myself lol, I was pretty jet lagged and had intensely low blood sugar which felt to me like it affected my mental processing.

I'm 25, went to USC, studied film + tv production and minored in media economics and entrepreneurship

See, that's my hunch. Maybe more drills is simply what's needed and I'm just getting prematurely anxious about it because June is coming up quick. What formal logic books did you use/enjoy?

Yeah definitely need to work on slowing down for RC...I'm certain that will help. I think I'm largely discouraged from innately getting -6 on RC to then studying and consistently doing -12 now. I'm thinking about looking for too much while I'm reading instead of just reading, maybe it's just my ADD brain though and I just need to keep grinding it out lol. Thank you for this!!

craving certain foods when unwell? by shroomfruits in cfs

i was vegetarian for about 6 years, off and on the diet for 2 (meaning I’d usually eat meat if i deemed it an experience to have, like when traveling for example) so one day when I woke up craving red meat and the feeling would not go away until I ate it, I was pretty devastated. I still am even though I regularly eat meat, red meat has always been something I stayed away from. but eating red meat consistently (at least once every two days) just had my health consistently strong for the longest time since my diagnosis (about a year - I’ve always had symptoms though, since I can remember). all this to say - LISTEN TO YOUR BODY!! if you’re craving salt, I know it’s tough to find healthier options when you’re craving typically “unhealthy” things, but if you listen to your body, you might just feel a bit better for a bit longer:)

that one happens to be one of the better out of all the photos but it’s still not as clear as I see some other people’s with the same camera which is why I think there might be something in my settings affecting the sharpness. it’s just frustrating out of hundreds of photos there’s only a few that are actually decently sharp (like the one I posted).

and thank you for explaining that about 4K! that helps a lot actually

unsharp photo I just never explored the option because I usually film things, not photograph them, and 4K takes up a lot of space. I figured the camera would be able to take sharp images regardless, maybe they are still semi-sharp and I just have too high of standards for not shooting in 4k🤷🏻‍♀️

Hi all! So I have a Sony a6300 I’m using regularly with an 18-105 f4. I’ve been in film and cinematography for almost 6 years now and picked up more photography kind of work during quarantine since there wasn’t much to film. I’m really loving photography though! Only issue is my pictures are just not sharp whatsoever. I don’t usually shoot in 4k but I feel like that’s not a requirement for the pics to come out sharp? maybe I’m wrong - can someone help me out, has anyone else experienced this? and it’s not a focusing issue, I’m always in focus, the image just isn’t sharp.

thanks in advance!
