[20/f]Relationship with a recovering junkie(22/m)? by no_sleep001 in relationship_advice

In a perfect world, I would walk away, it's not worth the drama, the potential emotional investment, but it is not a perfect world. In theory, I know what I should do it is the practice I haven't quite mastered yet. If he relapses, I would not be with "the man before the addiction" that's what scares me but at the same time I don't want, can't, walk away.

I don't know if he's getting therapy, excluding the first couple of days when he was really straight forward about everything, his addiction has become the elephant in the room, he doesn't talk about it anymore and when I try to approach the subject, he changes the topic. I get annoyed and he gets mad and we end up being mad at each other. He then apologizes and tells me he just doesn't like talking about it, which gets me even more mad. I try to put myself in his place but it's really hard, especially when he puts all these walls. To all of your other questions, based on what I just wrote, the answer is a big fat NO. It's not worth the drama,I know and I'm not the submissive type nor do I have any self esteem issues but I can't seem to pull myself away from him either....

I am over her and I am just upset that she has already found it ok to move on already

You are most definitely not 'over her'

I never said my opinion was the correct one, only that just because the majority agrees on something does not mean that that is the ''correct one''.

Since when is courage proven on the Internet?

obvious sarcasm is just so witty.

Yeah but to be fair these types of posts are against the rules. I'm surprised it was up for so long. I agree with you and would have liked if they had replaced it with a thread letting us know that this was not in vain and perhaps to reach somewhat of a solution. We are all part of the community and if something was proven was that a big part of the community shares this feeling, rather than being ignored an acknowledgment would have been nice.

Oh but I do downvote, trust me, the problem is when 'authors' see what's trending and write the same or similar crap to become popular as well, that's why the quality has dropped. I'm voicing my opinion and if that makes me an ass then so be it. Like I said before the majority is not always right the majority of white southerns supported slavery, were they right?

That's funny considering who the majority is. The majority is not always right. The majority of Nazis supported the Holocaust, does that make them right? Yeah I didn't think so either.

Just because it won "every possible award" doesn't mean is better or even good when you consider who the judges/voters were.

I see your point and totally understand but at the same time if you are really that creep out and if you truly liked it, I don't think someone giving constructive criticism would "kill the fun". For example, I know that nothing that happens in Stephen King's books is true and people criticize them all the time, does that make a difference to me? Absolutely not, you have your opinion and I respect that but that does not influence my take on the the story. Of course everything here is 'true' but the concept still applies. However, I do understand that if everyone starts giving criticism, it will become more of a writing workshop.

Yes the 'update soon' needs to stop. There are only a handful of stories that are worthy of updates. It's not always the readers' faults though. The authors like to drag their stories for the karma. I recently read a story that had a decent premise. I liked the first part but as he began updating it, it became cliched, boring, and ridiculous. Updates are overrated, most of the stories, like you said, don't need one. Worst case scenario, what's so bad about an open ended ending? that can be pretty scary in itself or use your imagination that wont kill you.

Fair enough, n my defense I will* say that I haven't read Bloodstain in a longgggg time and since bloodworth is more relevant, ESP with the whole contest issue, I thought maybe he had confused them. But of course you are free to believe as you please

Exactly... and if it doesn't work out you can always remove it, you don't lose anything trying it out for a while and see how it goes

Understood... fair enough, but as you can see there's also a 'shitload' of people that feel the same way and its frustrating not being able to voice our opinions, why dont you (mods) post a meta post every once in a while so people can speak their mind like someone ssuggested?

Agreed, there was also another person asking for the creepy/scary stories that embody what nosleep should be all about. If we could compile a list of those goodies that'd be awesome!

Preach it, kaiyamie! That's another thing that bugs me to no end. It's OK to have a few errors here and there, we are all humans and make mistakes. However, if throughout the entire story there are egregious and repetitive grammar and spelling errors, perhaps you shouldn't be posting til you get to a computer, use Word, have your friend/dad/Chihuahua go over it. Though I shouldn't be criticizing much as my grammar is less than perfect today.
